Question about Es Vive

For those who have stayed for a week at Es Vive, do you still have to pay the published rate each night or do they do a deal for longer stays, we are looking at going for 8 nights early July but it works out fookin expensive.
2nd question is is it worth it?

Thanks

BTW any other nice hotels to recommend :?:

The rate is the one on the website, last year I think there was 15% off if you booked early tho.

I've stayed there twice, the first year I thought it was worth it, mainly due to 24 hour bar and no kids. Last year I was less impressed, the outside bar wasn't open 24 hours and the inside bar was like any old crap bar you'd find in London Town. The rooms are nice but pretty basic and cos it's a hotel you have no living area/kitchen etc. The pool area is nice but half of it is always in the shade.

Tbh I don't think I would stay there again, El Hotel in Ibiza Town is cheaper and is way nicer imo.

I agree with everything Barbie said- the first year we really enjoyed it but last year not so much. Plus we were in the room above the bar, and were unable to get any sleep for the whole week.

El Hotel is much nicer, but I understand that they no longer have any of the cheaper rooms, as they are all being converted into the much more expensive 'junior suites'.

Wish i'd known, you could have brough it to our room to fill in some of those sleepless moments 8O

We've stayed there 3(or 4?) times and have enjoyed it every time.

My short summary would be:

1) Who cares whether the bar is the latest cutting edge experience? It's a more than suitable place to carry on for a while before hitting the sack. It's also a perfect place to meet up with those who may not be staying at the hotel.

2) We don't use the pool area really, but it's quite nice to sit and have a drink outside before heading off out at night.

3) The rooms are pretty basic, but provides everything we need. OK, there's no fridge but i'm fine as long as i've got some water at hand.

4) The food is of a pretty high standard too. More snack based but perfect for during the day or early evening.

5) No kids/families.

As Scoobie said, it can be quite noisy at night. It sounded like an orgy every night in the next room to us

:)

I agree with Barbie and Scoobie - definitely not worth the money!

When I've finished partying and want to go to relax and sleep I don't want to still hear loud music and noise - here it is constant and after a week really gets you down. The other thing is there is no fridge - this is the first hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere that didn't have some sort of fridge or cooler and the rooms are far too small.

I'd say it's nice for a few days but not for longer. One positive, the food from the outside bar is nice ;)

I think if someone said they would pay for for a week I still wouldn't stay at this hotel 8O 8O

From what Scoobie has told me El Hotel is definitely much nicer. 8)

And the other thing that really annoys me about the place is that they say you're not allowed to bring your own drinks into the hotel  It's easy to sneak them into your room but if you're sunbathing round the pool you're not even allowed your own drinks so they can make lots more money out of you cos you have to go to their bar all the time

For what you pay at Es Vive I think you could get places way nicer. Like you said I think the only time I'd stay there again would be if I was just going for a long wkend, a week/2 weeks without fridge etc is a mare.

Thanks Guys, any other nice hotels except El Hotel to suggest (currently investigating this option) Have stayed in Argos and El Corso and would like to be in the Ibiza Town area?

Haven't stayed there myself, but spoke to some people who were staying at Ocean Drive last year and rated it quite highly

I looked around it last year as I was going to stay there this June and I thought the prices took the p1ss.

Yes, the pool area is nice and there are no kids, but the rooms were so basic that it made me laugh. The only difference between their bedrooms and those in your basic Travel Lodge-style hotel is that the ones in Es Vive are smaller and have a Hed Kandi picture above the bed. Er, great. And you need to pay extra for a balcony and then even more for a seaview (which I would hardly even describe as a proper seaview).

It just seems to be a bit of a status thing so people can feel a bit swanky.

Es Vive are definitely having a bit of a laugh.

I think you are all being a bit too harsh on the hotel TBH.

The bar(s)

The reason the outside bar doesn't open 24 hours is most likely due to council regulations. In any case, why not just buy drinks inside between 10pm and 8am?

Although you may see the inside bar as being quite average, i think it serves it's purpose well. Areas are sectioned off (once particular area has curtains) so your group can have some element of privacy from others. The bar now has sheets over the windows to keep the daylight out.

The music is usually quite good with decks available to anyone wanting to play.

It may not be the type of bar you'd spend time at home, but is it really that bad?

The rooms

Some rooms are quite small, but please remember that this hotel is a conversion. It wasn't designed this way by the owners. They had to work with what was there. OK, they could knock 2 rooms into one but wouldn't that just be somewhat overkill?

"The rooms don't have a fridge" - IT'S A HOTEL!!! Don't think i've ever stayed in a hotel with a fridge in the room before.

Taking food in

Again, IT'S A HOTEL! - Hotel's sell food/drinks - that's the whole point!

Imagine going into a restaurant with some fish & chips, sitting down and saying to the waiter "you don't mind us eating these in here where it's warm do you?"

What's the point in the hotel having kitchen staff, waitresses, bar staff etc if everyone's going to bring their own food/drinks in?

The price

Again, this is a hotel. Hotel's have a lot more overheads than apartments. Your paying for something that is a package, even if you don't use every service they offer.

At the end of the day, they can fill every room all season at the prices they charge.

They're in business to make money at the end of the day, i'd do exactly the same if i were them. Whilst ever people are willing to pay those prices, they will continue to charge them.

I'm not saying the hotel doesn't have faults, but i think most of the comments made are somewhat unfair.

After staying there a few times, i wouldn't mind giving somewhere else a try but where? Everyone tells me El Hotel has no atmospehere whatsoever, Pikes is wrong side of island for us. Ocean Drive? Who knows?

There is that yes and there are a lot of wannabe's who can be quite rude.

I accept that some people find this atmosphere a bit intimidating, but you sometimes have to sit back and see it all for what it is.

If you're a young skint scallywag like Moiself, you could stay in Jet 8)

They're 5mins from Space, when we stayed there we had a great time. The rooms are basic, but loads of space, decent enough kitchen and we had a lovely view looking out onto the beach.

We only paid about £250 each for a week, bargain ;)

I was thinking about some of the comments made about the hotel yesterday and felt the need to edit one of my post (see above)

:)

Not having stayed there i don't have much input to this issue -

but last year we met Barbie & TMT + a few others for drinks in Es Vive and despite it being only 12am at the latest and there only being about 8max of us talking outside - they requested that we had to go into the bar

found that a bit much given that we weren't making much noise
