Anyone watch this? Watched some repeats on UK Gold last night and was amazed at just how bright Stephen Fry is. He knows all that stuff, there's no way you could fit it all on autocue!

You could say the same about rappers.

quite possibly my fave prog on tv.

although, as mr fry knows what the topics are, he could easily bone up (ffnar) on the relevant subjects

still v impressive though. also, if you see any episodes with rory mcgrath on, he is a clever clogs too

Hadn't seen it for a while, and agree he can do some research but impressive all the same.

There's a cafe-bar in oxford named after this show. It's lovely. the members club upstairs is where all the brains in Oxford hang out and discuss clever things

I naturally stay downstairs in the coffee shop/restaurant.

fry is a truly outstanding person. just extremely extremely intelligent. there was a programme about him around xmas time, talking about his personality, extreme depression, etc, etc.

it had some old footage of him on university challenge when he seemingly single handedly won it for his cambridge bumchums.
