..... but not in the sort of way you dirty buggers were thinking!!!!!

I am on a course next Tuesday in London which finishes at lunchtime - I have deliberately booked myself on a later flight back home to do something "cultural" - any good ideas from you London folks on any exhibitions at museums/galleries etc??

Thank you in advance..... 8)

Went to the Saatchi gallery the other day (South Bank) - the current exhibition is really good.

Tate gallery is more impressive venue wise however - and it's free which is a bonus.

You must get a London eye ticket because it's great at sundown (it's also by the Saatchi gallery).

Try not to fit too many activities in because you'll find yourself rushing around on the public transport system and not enjoying yourself.

My advice - stay on the river. It's prettier and you can coo at the houses of parliament and Big Ben.

(Or you could head straight to V______ for a dirrrty session under a skanky railway arch! :P  )

Caravaggio at the National Gallery?

Oooh yes - that's a good one!

...btw - when I mentioned the Tate gallery - I was actually referring to the Tate Modern in Southwark, not the Tate gallery.

I'm full of them today! :P ...just got a pat on the back from my boss so I've decided to give myself an afternoon of spotlight leisure! :P

Another option -

You could head to my fave area, Brick Lane...the Truman brewery is hosting a really good exhibition of sculptures made from cans of red bull.

After that, it would be rude not to head for Dray Walk to soak up the atmosphere and have a bevvie at the Big Chill.

ooh do goto chinatown and take home some crispy belly pork.

very fattening, but smells and tastes lush...

as you leave the hotel. double back on yourself into Charing Cross station. Next to Boots and the Flower store is a wonderful fuscia and glass unit selling surprisingly lovely silver jewellery. buy some.

btw did you know that the Charing X hotel is where Dr David Kelly and Andrew Gilligan had their infamous meeting? ;)

Ta Russ Too skint to treat myself this time, but will take note and possibly window shop for next time....

I didnt know that at all about the infamous meeting - I dont particularly like the Charing X Hotel - everytime I stay for work I ask for a smoking room - they always stick you above the kitchens or the train station and the noise is shocking...... suppose next time I should ask for a n/smoking room and just stick my head out the window :D
