Has there ever been one at any of the bigger clubs?

I just find it a little (not very) odd that this is only found at the north of the island.

Btw, read in some interview that Sven Vath thought this was the only element bringing magnitude to the music style at Ibiza (or something like that)
 
there was a psy trance party last year @ priviledge called "dance to trance" (or something like that) that had GMS playing......

i find it absurd that an island that seems 2 like 2 boast itself as "THE" dance music capital has near NO psy-trance nights anywhere...... :roll:
i mean GMS LIVE IN IBIZA & no-one on the friggin' island knows who they are nevertheless heard their music??????????????? i came 2 the conclusion that ibiza is all about GLAM & FASHION (maybe even more so than the music 4 some) thus ruling out a psy-trance night as it would counteract what i just mentioned above........... :roll: :roll:

i LOVE psy-trance & there should be a WEEKLY party SOMEWHERE ON THAT ISLAND IMHO!!!! :evil:
 
been to the VooV last weekend - and considering the mood/people there I just couldn´t really think that psy/goa would work on the Island.

nonetheless, was a great weekend!
 
Ibidelyc @ Somny in Playa d'en Bossa is on monthly. They had Eskimo on their opening night and he really ripped the arse out of the place- it was magic.

Spun records also had a night (not sure how often it is though) at Privelege. John 00 Flemming was supposed to headline the opening party but he had a near-fatal water skiing accident a few days before. Happily he's on the mend.
 
i'm a huge psytrance fan and after numerous Goa parties, am popping my Ibiza cherry. like you all, am disappointed to not find as much psy on the island. however, i arrive on 28/8 and am planning to make my 1st party GMS/Infected at Privilege.

where in the northern part of island can you find psy?

Why do you think so? Are they that different from the house people? :?

I mean, at Cream they play House music at the terrace so there should be room for at least a weekly "psy-room" somewhere, for example at Privilege.

i'm assuming though - as a 1st timer with only 2 Sundays there, that I should not pass up GMS/Infected or WLS for Tribe of Frog? Is ToF a night-time thing? Too much good stuff...too li'l time :(

Tribe of Frog is at night - 12- 6am, but you can sit about and chill in the amazing fairy garden from about 10pm onwards before they crank up the tunes in the sound-proofed trance temple.

because for me Psy/Goa is an outdoor thing. My first bigger goa (couple of thousand ppl) was in ´97, stopped then for a while (I´m a UK/NL trance person myself) and been to a couple of indoor Goas starting this year again.

And on the weekend 09.07.05 we´ve been camping along with about 12.000 ppl from all over the world at the VooV (check http://www.voov-experience.com and for pics http://www.putlitz.org/voov2005/sonnabend/index.htm )

THAT´s what I call a goa. I couldn´t really imagine the same in Amnesia or in Space, I think.

It´s a mixture of being outdoor / of the people (strange mixture of "normals", of Goa-ppl in all sorts of colorful clothes, of ppl in costumes, of aliens etc) / the vibe - and that´s for me just not fitting in one of the super clubs.

Haven´t been to Tribe of Frog on the island sofar, maybe it´s quite good.

btw for VooV: sound at the main floor started at 22:45, I brought my girl in our camp at 5:45 (about 700m away), then back for me to the main floor. At 8:30 I picked my girl up again, back to the main floor - finally at 10:30 in the morning then off to sleep :)
Shane Gobi was playing from 7:00-10:00 - absolutely awesome! Some of the best stuff I´ve heard in a while. Dancing there, meeting ppl from all over the world, sitting there chilling, awesome!
 
Tribe of Frog Ibiza started out doing outdoor parties in the hills but were forced to stop due to a clampdown by the police acting (allegedly) under pressure (allegedly from the 'disco mafia' (allegedly). I was at The Glade last weekend and tribe of Frog UK did the decor for the Origin stage. It's the closest you'll get to a goa experience both on the island and in the UK.

i agree that outdoor and goa are synonymous. but i've been to a coupla bangin' indoor events (Tunnel in NY to name just one) and really, once you have the crowd and the oontsoontsoonts, it still works 8) but yeah, nothin like outdoor. Solipse (10 days!) in Zambia, culminating with the eclipse 8) (emoti-pun intended) was unbelieveable!

does anyone have an opinion on Spun for 28/8?

only thing is the last time i saw InfM (~3 mths ago?), they were off, IMO. Just don't get into their newer direction as much, kinda monotonous. Also, I'm tempted by Danny Tenaglia + Flower Power that same night.

actually, i'm just in Cairo for a short while (6 mths) 8)
