Professional CV writing

I am new to the site so hello everyone! :)

Looking for some advice... do you think it is worth while having your CV written by a professional CV writer? I am looking to relocate to London asap and I am not sure whether to go down this route. Had a company on the phone charging £229 to do the honours!8O
 
do it yourself and get an intelligent friend to proof read it. I occasionally screen CVs for my company and it's so easy to tell if someone's intelligent or not by their CV - badly written, poorly structured, nasty layout etc are all big signs

I think it might be a bit weird if you didn't write it yourself as I think you wouldn't completely know what you'd written and that might show up at interview
