Alex Jones alongside Jaime Franks formed the successful DJ partnership, The Insurgents. They held down residencies at Brighton’s (Big Beat) Boutique, which saw them prepare the stage for the likes of Fatboy Slim, The Glimmers, Audio Bullys, Tiga & Touche amongst many others.

As The Insurgents, Alex has played a wide range of clubs throughout the UK, these include the Wall of Sound tent @ the notorious Glastonbury festival, Mulletover, Touche’s Bodyclap party, Radio Soulwax, London’s premier breaks & beats party – Chew the Fat, Playground, Ministry of Sound, Transmission, Electric Stew many more.

Then alongside London promoter Dominic Cools-Lartigue, Alex formed the backbone of after-hours clubbing with the now infamous Sunday knees-up ‘Retox’. Since launching in the summer of 2005, Retox has grown into a wild but warm affair for a loyal bunch of partygoers that know their music and get spoiled with it too! Retox often plays after party host o Fabric and has had the great fortune of having some of the worlds most favoured electronic artists visit their humble home. Since its inception, Retox has had visits from Luciano, tom Middleton, Konrad Black, Claude Von Stroke, M.A.N.D.Y., Pier Bucci, Jamie Jones, Craig Richards, Agaric, C-Rock, Argy, Sian, Andy Weatherall and Dan Ghenaci amongst so many more.

Alex’s DJing at Retox allowed him to go solo and create his own sound; this resulted in Alex setting up his own record label – Hypercolour, alongside Playground promoter Jamie Russell aka Cedric Maison.
