Correct that Suara was at Boom a few years ago. I went to one of the nights there & it was dead. Lucky if Boom was a third full & it was a small club! I had discount wrist band (think it was 20€ entry plus a free drink !)
That was peak season as well!
Saying that I love Coyu & hope he can pull this night off at Privilege.

So seems Privilege will not have a lack of decent events this year! Good to see the club getting back on form again, how many nights in a week will the main room be open then? 3? Resistance/Imarichbitch/supermartx? That's not bad going really, I've always though a weekly techno week would work well there, Cocoon was good when it was there for a while when Amnesia shut, think that was 2007.

i'm surprised that Materia hasn't come back
had good techno line-ups with DJs that you wouldn't see at Cocoon/Carl Cox/Circo Loco

Really love the lineups for Materia but terrible choice to go up against Cocoon. Some will probably argue but i think its perfect fit for Saturday even this year with Elrow at Amnesia and Coffee at Hi as it is different enough to draw. I do think its one of those things though in a sense of where do you want to put a pure techno party up against existing ones, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday all very crowded. Perhaps Thursday would've worked as well but Afterlife is a big draw as well.

no idea about that to be honest
as noted above, choice of night to host it was immediately going to weaken its draw
but with Privilege adding more "less EDM" nights, i thought it could fit the ethos

Mmm, hope the best for him but not very very famous in Spain , saw him in Madrid and Barcelona and he didn't attract that much the Spanish crew ! Hope will not be the same on the island !
that's a massive step up for Coyu! Do love the guy but not sure if he'll fill the place? Guess he's very popular with the Spanish crowd though. Hoping for some varied line-ups

only mainroom nights will be very likely tuesdays (techno/house), fridays (latin und raggeaton) and saturdays (edm).
Alright cool, That's a shame I'm going with two mates who haven't been before so would have been nice for them to see privilege main room. I was there in 08 for Tiesto was fantastic. Wouldn't go see him these days if you paid me

Been going to IBZ for many years , still remember the Es Puma parties at Amnesia back in 88-89. The problem with KU (privilege never stuck) is that the property was paid for many many many years ago. With the management working on a "for profit" basis year in , year out with no shareholders to pay (look at the commercialism of BorBora to see how that works) then they are quite happy just bopping along. The days of Mike and Claire running it are long gone but from what I hear they are still open to new and fresh ideas and what it needs is young , fearless visionaries that are prepared to throw themselves into promoting a new angle for parties. Sasha and Diggers (just my opinion) will fall flat. The style of Sasha's slow build tech house is great for affficienados who appreciate and acknowledge his style but endless plodding of tech house is not what KU needs to tear the roof off(or at least get it to open safely.... maybe some of Mike and Claire's Murder at the ManUMission Hotel limited edition lube...)

It was always all opened. Now the vista is here it can be used as a separate club. There's just too much competition on the island now to fill the club every night.
