Privilege's lack of decent events

You don't want dark tech nights when you go on holidays.you want melodic, organic prog trouse.something to put a smile on your face.:) nobbie back me up here..

This is why I don't "quite get" Tale of Woe for a club night. I like their mixes but when I'm feeling a bit chilled at home. Saw them last year at Space after Niall played, he was more uplifting.

Hahaha well i like the uplifting stuff for sure but I'm a slave to the marketing that dictates me having to like dark tech.

Id love a 'dark' techno night or two on my hols but I wouldn't want that every night it's nice to have a mix of nights with different vibes I haven't really experienced 'dark' in that sense since the old Circo loco mind boggling minimal days.ive not been to afterlife yet but I'm there for the closing this year

I think this season will be about putting privilege back on the ibiza clubbing map.

while I don't think they're going to have a blockbuster season, I am convinced that the appearance of coxy and all the artists playing resistance and afterlife (and events still TBA??) will greatly help to make people aware about privilege and make a lot of people considering going to a club they've not been to for a long time...or in the case of the younger crowd, maybe not been ever yet!

I can't tell the details yet, but they have made (and are still making) some interesting changes inside the venue.
Agree with you Stivi but apart from the 2 nice residency that are very good for the club , can we except another interesting one for this season?

that's a massive step up for Coyu! Do love the guy but not sure if he'll fill the place? Guess he's very popular with the Spanish crowd though. Hoping for some varied line-ups

@stepotts I agree with you 100%

Love Coyu and love Suara, but he bombed spectacularly at Sankeys a few years ago. (And didnt they do Booom! too??)

Struggle to see why this would get the nod over Solid.Grooves who had a great year last year! So hopefully that means they're back too.

One of my favourite nights musically in the last few years was one of their nights at Sankeys but there couldn't have been 10 people there! So yeah, I fear for him filling the place, but I'll definitely check it out on my 2nd trip this summer!

My other comment would be if you look at Suara's recent output - particularly the non-Coyu stuff - it's quite melodic. It's very much in Afterlife territory

A very good point although that actually works out well for me as I won't be around on the Thursday when I am there. For me personally, its a real alternative to Solomun+1 on Sundays, especially if you don't want to pay silly prices or you don't fancy the +1 that night.

just to add the suara night wasn't the thing that a few months back had been rumored.

I shall explain all of this soon when I have a minute.

have to agree, suara bombed completely at sankeys and can't see them succeeding now, the label is right where it was then. however good luck, their output is quite decent!

Can you expand on what you've heard?

I'm afraid I can't really! It's literally just the throwaway line that they might be doing a party together. I'm just intrigued where the speculation comes from.

I think - on these forums at least - it came from Stivi saying something about 2 talls guys and one short guy doing something together.

Very hard, serious competition with mr Solomun.....
