Privilege - one off acts/djs

As we know, Privilege host the occasional one off events like the radio 1 big weekend along with Faithless last year...... so my question is, why arn't they doing more of them?????

I know its difficult to fill a place like that, but surly electronic bands like Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk (whenever they return to touring..... maybe a daft punk residency each week..... that would be good!!!!), prodigy possibly pendulum, could be a success for them???????

I know its entering a more commercial direction, but its probably better than a poor night at Privilege!!!!

Ibiza Rocks has this pretty much nailed down though. Also amnesia presents last year did a similar thing. Would be way too difficult/pricey to get big stadium names in every week

daft punk every week. :roll::lol:

was it really worth the effort typing the words!

why don't they just do a beyondthegrave-cast and have elvis, freddie mercury and john lennon perform.

They'd certainly sell the venue out... then there'd be a zombie outbreak... and the world as we know it would end.

Re

I'd put money on it that Daft Punk will play Ibiza this summer, in Space, on August 22nd for the Soma Records birthday party.

well im hoping theres a good lineup for that soma records night coz im not mad about the cocoon lineup that monday,

but i hope its not daft punk

I think the chance of Daft Punk playing is slim at best.
They'd of done something centered around the Tron soundtrack they produced if they were going to do something, surely, and that came out months ago.

No I agree, besides, the last time Daft Punk played was in 2007 and have remained silent since, but they are rumoured to start playing in the next year or so, especially with that Tron album being released. I mean it has been 4 years!!!!

But lets be honest, in the future, we would all like to see Daft Punk at Privilege as that is the club which would suit them best!!!!!!!

I think the last time they played was in the 1990's at El Divinio... I think

Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers, Leftfiled, Orbital or Justice would full Ku (Kasabian would alos be good in there!)

leftfield played at space last year. based on that, they wouldn't come close to filling ku.

orbital played at ku in 2009. it was one of the emptiest parties i've ever been to at the club.

justice had played fridays at pacha for a couple of years....again, they couldn't the numbers for ku.

daft punk or chems yeah probably. no one can afford daft punk, they're not even doing any of the festivals this year, creamfields, etc

chems have done we love for a couple of years. on the right day and promoted right, they'd prob pack em in.

faithless' live show was good last year, but not a total full house

underworld have played twice in ibiza in the last 2 years. once on a friday (cocoon event) in 2009 and for the cream radio 1 event in 2010. neither of those would indicate they could fill the club.

ibiza rocks full full full is probs only at most half what you could get in ku for it to be considered full. gives you an idea about how much extra is needed and how few artists could carry that. guetta would be one.

Unfortunately, IMO, Ku is just too big for it's own good.
It's always going to struggle to fill the venue.

The Swedish House Mafia would probably fill it up as well (or come closer), but I very much doubt pacha would let either SHM or Guetta go, especially if they do oversell the nights for a much more exorbitant (e.g. €70) for a ticket.

i dont even know how priviledge is staying open in recent years, tiesto aside it must be fairly empty all week.

since manumission left/stopped, then meganite left, their weekly schedule is grim in my opinion.

pacha have it soooo good they must be making a fortune with fmif and sweedish house mafia etc they are printing money not to mention their drink prices.

cheese sells!

It doesn't help that Privilege is an awful club. It looks horrendous on both the inside and out. It could be really good too which is why it's a shame.

I would of loved to have gone back in the Manumission days. I found a load of flyers for it on Google Images which look really cool.

Like a previous poster said though, Tiesto aside, how do they manage to keep the club open for the other 6 nights?
