Preview: Swedish House Mafia at Pacha 2011

SHM @ Pacha

I know this has been talked to death other parts of the forum (especially last year and prior to this season), but has anybody been to SHM in 2011 yet? I'm going to Ibiza from 11-18 August and we are looking to go to SHM on the Monday night as it's a friend's 30th birthday.

Given the ridiculous amount of money we will be spending going, it would be good to actually enjoy the night without having the thought in the back of my mind that we are all dead if there is fire/emergency. Has it been ridiculously busy this season too?

This night really needs to move to a bigger club. You can't put mainstream pop stars in a nightclub which has more VIP areas than dance floor space (same goes for Guetta as well).

I was there in in June, and it was really packed. I heard they did a new record of people in Pacha in July, and in August it will be the same i guess.

I've also celebrated my 30th birthday on the island. Maybe you should think about to book a table in Pacha because tickets will anyway be around EUR 70 and a drink costs around 15.

Table for 2 Persons makes around 300 Euro, but a bottle and entrance are included plus separate entrance.

For a 30th Birthday i would definitely go this way.

I was there the Monday before last and it was rammed to the point i was in hysterics of laughter coz of the way people behaved

Thank god for the terrace area where you can actually breath lol

Nonetheless it was still wicked when SHM did come on....there was more room to dance and more importantly breath round the back area of the main DJ box 8)

Think the Wednesday Ushuaia parties are meant to help balance the demand out from the overcrowded Monday nights at Pacha :

For some reason it soesn't seem to have completely filtered through to the market yet ... ? 25euros a bit of a bargain as compared to 70 to be crammed in like a sardine at Pacha, no >>?

I agree even if your not up for it 25 euros is a good price for most people :)

What time did they come on?

I was a bit messy when I was there in June 8)

I cant decide whether to do SHM or not. I'm in Ibiza tomorrow (Sat) Until next Thurs afternoon. Def wanna do Pacha one night... Would SHM be the best night other than FMIF to go??

depends if you like more mainstream music or not. If it was me I would go on sunday for Luciano out of all the Pacha nights its still very busy but not like shm/fmif

I'm goin Espuma on Sunday actually. It's always my favourite night! I do quite like SHM jus Don't know if i can be bothered with those kind of crowds though!

I hear Luciano is getting very restless about his night at Pacha.......

well i speak to him everyday and he is totally happy with his night and we are already planning next summer, you should check your source, or are you just starting a rumour ?

He's starting a rumour I think Danny!

And for those of you who don't know Danny is the creative diretor at Pacha. Back to one the questions above, I'd say SHM and FMIF are the worst nights to do Pacha if you only want to go once. Tong, Defected or Luciano are now musically the strongest nights by far (obviously the style is very different). What Danny and Pete have done with Friday's is brilliant (with the exception of Usher), so I REALLY would recommend that...... All the aforementioned nights do what Pacha does best. I know they have to do SHM and FMIF to bring in the mega €€€, but to experience the vibe and beauty of Pacha try another night....

hmmm, whats subliminal like this season? i used to go every year, but didnt go last year, and dont think planning on going this year.
although I always have a trip to Pacha, as its probably, at a push my fave club.

not for fmif though, and we saw the Swedes last summer, the night Kylie sang, we saw Kylie, then it was so rammed we went on the terrace, listened to some cool 70s tunes, chilled out, and about 5am went back into the main room to finish our night.

the SHM were still rocking it, and the dancefloor wasnt half as rammed... great night... but I will no way go to see them this year.

I went to SHM at Pacha a few weeks ago. It was my first time to Pacha. SHM were awesome, the vibe was electric and the music was great. I'm not the biggest house fan but their music makes me feel like dancing all night.

The club was dangerously busy though - you could barely move until around 5.30am. When you decided to move to another room, it was a real ordeal, about 15 mins of shoving past people and having everyone giving you dirty looks for trying to move. Makes it a bit hard to dance!

I'd love to go to SHM again next year but hope they move to a bigger venue, Pacha is too small, especially when half the club is VIP. At 70 Euros it was not good value!

Exactly, they could easily move to Privilege. Pacha isn't built for nights like this.

The 70 Euros are very much for a Party like this. Are the Prices at the Iland more than this? What do you pay at the Door or at Music Store and Party Bars where you can Buy the Ticktes? I Only want to know If it is possible to get Tickets for SHM cheaper than 70 Euros.
Thanx for the Information :D
