Pregnant clubbing - any thoughts??

Am going to be six and half months pregnant for this year's Ibiza trip (1 - 10 July). Dead chuffed about the baby, but kind of puts the kibosh on clubbing plans! Got lots of plans for nice restaurants (KM5, El Ayoun, etc.) and chilling out at the villa, but thought it would be night to have maybe one nice out clubbing. Was thinking maybe Defected or Subliminal at Pacha, as there are always plenty of places to sit down if I get too knackered (how sad!!)

Anyone else been over to Ibiza when pregnant? Worried whether I'll be up to it and whether I'll get funny looks if I do go to a club.

Honestly? I would find it kinda odd to see a pregnant woman in a Ibiza club.

My first thought would be that it's irresponsible. Crowded, smoke, drugs...common. A lot of crazy things can happen (in which normally is a good thing). It's Ibiza u know!8)

But hey, it's your life and call!

I wouldn't go so far as to call it irresponsible.... it's obvious you're not going to be drinking or doing drugs so I say fair play to you. You should be able to have some fun on your trip!

I would only worry a bit about the cigarette smoke... you might want to think about places like Bora Bora and Space where you can be outside (though it gets a bit hot on that Space terrace daytime) and theoretically inhale less smoke...

Definitely won't be drinking or taking drugs myself!!! And as long as I'm not standing right next to someone having a ciggie, I don't see it as being too much of a problem.

Space could be a good plan. Also easier for me to go during the day and go back on my own if it all gets a bit too much and I feel like leaving before my friends are ready to go home. It just gets a bit packed on the terrace sometimes. Think the whole day-time thing makes seeing a pregnant woman more socially acceptable too!

Am really looking forward to going back to Ibiza again (my 4th year) as there's so much to do besides the clubs. There are 10 of us getting a villa and one couple are bring their year old baby. Just know that I'm going to feel really jealous when my other half and some of the others are planning a couple of big nights out though! Guess I'll have to play it by ear - feel fine now, but sure I'll be more tired when I get a bit bigger.

good luck and have fun... look out for the outdoor free parties and bar life, youd probaby be very tired in clubs id imagine

Last time worked in Ibiza ,my boss was pregnant- i think she went home at the beginning of september and she was about 6 1/2 months pregnant- she went out most weeks throughout the season and she was fine. So don't worry, you won't be the first pregnant woman in a club and probably not the last. Don't pick a club on how many sit down places there are as I'm sure anyone would be willing to give up their chair for a pregnant woman. Space's upstairs terrace is nice and we love is one of the best nights. Good luck to you! Don't let other peoples opinions stop you doing what you want.

hav fun and enjoy but do be careful with smoke, ect.....and no standing next to loudspeakers at this might effect the baby inside you! good luck and happy trip and preggie!:) make sure u get plenty of water and dont get squished in the crown ok-?

Go for it - my mate (who's hubby has a club in Newcastle) clubbed all through her pregnancy - didnt do anything detrimental to the babies health and had a ball.....

Harvey is fine, healthy and addicted to dance music - when he was little he used to go bonkers on hearing Leftfield and Chemical Brothers.... loves his dance music - as he got older he went to glato and had his own little headhones to wear to protect his ears from the music...8)

katie........my wife went clubbing a few times whilst pregnant. In ibiza, i would defo say Pacha......its perfect, loads of places to sit (terrace and global room can be comfy) and the funky room and the main room would be perfect to soak up a bit of atmosphere without being in a scrum.

not sure i'd pick subliminal though.........thats likely to be one of the busier nights.

have fun and good luck!!:D

Definately Pacha.

Why not dine there, then spend most of the evening on the terrace and occasionally wandering down into the funky room etc?

+ the added bonus of free entry.

:?

I wouldn't encourage it, not beacause I'm a kill-joy but it only takes someone to bang into you or you to slip & fall or sommat.....I know this can happen in asda or driving the car but why stack the odds up...also at 6.5 mths it's probably the last thing you will want to do anyway?

I agree, there's something a bit wrong about seeing a pregnant lady in a club, surrounded by sweaty clubbers off their faces 8O I've no doubt you wont be drinking or taking drugs, but people will still assume that because you're in a club you will be doing so! Just hang on for a few more months then leave the kid with it's Dad and go out on a proper clubbing night ;)

I'd say if you really wanted to go to a club, perhaps like others have said, have a meal in Pacha, a few drinks on the terrace, then pop your head into the main club a bit later, but as far as dancing on the dancefloor, IMO I wouldnt do it. I get pushed and shoved all over the place when in clubs, you dont want anything to happen to you whilst pregnant.

A friend of a friend came to whirlygig with us a few years back 6/7 months pregnant. It was very bizzare watching her give the bump a dance, and even stranger when she started munching on bananas!

agreed. use the time in ibiza to explore and few new things. imagine how you'd feel if something happened to the baby? Sure, you can rely on your own good judgement and responsibleness (is that a word?) but the clubs will be full of people off their faces on all sorts. I wouldn't risk it if I was a lady with a bump...

Pregnant women shouldn't be in clubs 8O they should be in Mothercare or wherever pregnant women go  ;)

ditto old people! (obviously excluding the mothercare bit, maybe having their clothes re-beiged.)
