POLL TIME, WHO HATES XMAS AND WHO DOESNT?

Unfortunately, for my family it has always been another day off. When I moved to the US, it was just me and my sister, and it was no different. I always wanted to have spend X-Mas in a way that I read in books or saw it in movies, but that never happened, and so Christmas was very depressing for me till 2001.

Since then I have been invited by my best friend to his place every year. His wife would make a great Danish dinner and dessert. But the best part would be to sit in front of the warm crackling fire see the two kids sparkly eyed and all excited, running with their little feet ready to open all the presents. I love the crackling sound of the firewood. I guess it is the mere simplicity of things that makes it so pleasant.

Xmas is pretty sweet at the whole Bripmon household. I don't really care for the blatant marketing ploy by the stores, to be honest, but the meaning of xmas is captured when you watch your little neices and nephews open their presents and how anxious they are to go to bed so Santa can come.

it's not xmas without

family
friends
hugs
well wishes for the new year
snow
liquor
egg nog w/ liquor ;)
fruit cake (I don't like it, but its festive)
little kids terrorizing my parents living room
ham

any more to add????

the sounds of

"xmas is a four letter word..."

or

"don't mention the C word..."

resinate round my family this time of year.

Turkey curry bring it on

I just wanna get quickly over and done with it and then off the the happy January, fresh start - and the sun is back and the days are getting longer again, hurray! I want that......

i cant make my mind up. :? in some ways i love it and in some ways i hate it.

i hate the run up to it and all the chaos that goes with it. i can never think of good presents to get for anyone. and i always end up so stressed. but i love spending xmas day with my family and stuffing my face! i have to say though, when it is all over and january comes, i feel a huge sense of relief.
