DJ SWING HAS A TERMINAL CONDITION (you may have seen the documentary about him on BBC) HE HAS UNTIL TUESDAY 18TH OCTOBER TO FIND A 100% MATCH - THIS FRIDAY IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO SAVE DJ SWING - HE DOES NOT HAVE ANY MORE TIME FOR YOU TO 'THINK' ABOUT SAVING HIS LIFE.

THERE IS A BONE MARROW REGISTRATION CLINIC BEING HELD THIS FRIDAY FOR SWING, & OTHERS IN HIS SITUATION. IF YOU HAVEN'T REGISTERED YET, THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO SAVE THIS MANS LIFE!

Registration process:

STEP1: You fill out a Medical form before a trained person takes a tablespoon of your blood.

STEP 2: Your Bone Marrow type is determined and entered onto the UK Registry which is searched internationally on behalf of patients like DJ Swing who need a Marrow transplant.

STEP 3: If you are identified as a donor then in a simple procedure under a general anaesthetic approx 2% of your Marrow fluid is collected by a needle from the pelvic region or it can be collected as an outpatient on a blood cell separator machine.

STEP 4: Your Marrow naturally replenishes itself within a short space of time and you recover very quickly from the procedure.

I think everyone who physically can should donate blood. I've been doing it since I was 18, you never know when you might need it back!

Anyone who is not caucasian should make a special effort because those blood types are in desperate need of blood! (Hence Buckley's email).

Yes they don't want it cos people who were given my blood would end up pissed :lol:

No seriously, it's cos I had to have blood transfusion when I got run over and if you've had a blood transfusion before a certain date then they won't let you give blood :roll: It really annoys me cos lots of ppl close to me have needed blood and I believe everyone should give blood but mine isn't good enough for them, yet they still compain about not enough people giving blood :roll:

we hope and pray a match is found i watched the documentary and have seen the guy in and around record stores in london over the years.

Just needs more people to take time to help and see if they are a match!

Not to be overly semantic, but none of you are caucasian. The word implies you're from the Caucusus, so unless you are olive skinned, dark haired, and count yourself as Azeri, Armenian, Georgian, Ossetian, Chechen, Ingush or one of about 50 other small nationalities, then you're just plain old northern European.

I'll have to think about helping DJ Swing seeing as I'll be in London tomorrow and probably not far away from Leceister Sq. Only I have a serious irrational fear of needles :?

Morbyd dont be so pedantic :roll: I was actually trying to word my post very carefully so as not to offend anyone un-intentionally by mentioning specific races, I mis-understood what caucasian meant obviously, but let's not distract from the original message here and what we're trying to ask people to do 8O
