PIKES

I’m booking the Sunday roast and on the site it gives an option of restaurant or rooftop ..

Does anyone have any recommendations for either.
Like the sound of the rooftop option but the restaurant could be more lively and I’d hate to got fomo ..

it's too long to post here. the link is open access (maybe try different device or browser?)

Ok, a lot to unpack but here are my 'hot takes'

1. TSDJ will always provoke and polarise opinion because that's what he does. I think there is a vital need for outsiders, punks who are a thorn in the side, esp somewhere as bloated and conceited as Ibiza. It may be that there are personal gripes, vendettas, beefs we don't know about, but I think with most of his crusades his heart's in the right place. I just wonder what the ultimate end goal is and whether some things would be better done behind closed doors or involving the police?

2. There are major allegations there, accusations of serious criminal negligence on a public platform. I'm sure he'll get a Cease & Desist in 5,4,3,2,1.... Not for me to comment on the inner politics but I do know many DJs who have played there under both sets of management, each with different stories/experiences. The consensus seems to be that Pikes still has its moments (esp on a Harvey night) but that something has shifted, esp with crowds.

3. I had no idea Makepeace was in the PP... Would certainly explain a few things. (Where I live, the PP are HATED almost as much as VOX - but this is probably the wrong thread to rant off about Spanish politics)

4. Russ. What can I say? Liked him enough the first time we met 3/4 years back when we chatted books and Scottish service stations. However, he was pretty unpleasant when I ran into him in Sept. Got mega defensive and shouty when I mentioned that people (including on here) were unhappy with the overcrowding. TBH had no idea he was on the 'team'. Thought he was just another poolside DJ. Oops! Maybe it's all gone to his head or maybe I got him on a bad day...

5. I guess my main take is that all is not well in the Garden of Eden and the reaction to that post suggests a lot of readers instinctively agree. Whether it is just people like me grumbling or something deeper, only time will tell.

Well put.

New for 2025

We've ordered a pizza in the past which was then delivered to the old sunset terrace or last year to Plaza Mayor.

At 30 Euro a head for 4 slices, assuming that is about half a pizza, it seems to have roughly doubled what paid before albeit it with a table rather than scoffing down on the fly.

Meh :-(
