Pete Tong @ Eden

I heard (a few years back) that PT was on €25,000 a week at Pacha.

Massive coup for Eden, though it might be the final nail in the coffin for Tongy's interest in underground music.

Not sure what you mean by the "return" of Renaissance but having them go weekly again would be great.

Pure Pacha was supposed to be a venue-promoted event though, wasn't it? Theoretically they could just book a new "face" of Pure Pacha to join their resident Sarah Main.

exactly, tongy was just the resident. so they could just continue with the usual guests that night has had and/ore make someone part time ressie alongside sarah main.

Wow, this is bigger than Anelka's move to Chelsea!

Not sure what to make of it, I don't usually have a great time at Pure Pacha but thought it was pretty good fun this summer with Sander K.

If he can get good guests in I can't see why it cant be as busy as Pacha.

getting big numbers at eden isn't an issue, as jules has shown. it is purely the type of clientele that is going to be subject to change.

that's what i mean, renaissance EVERY week!

wonder who the new face will be or if they will just come up with a new night all together?

tongy of course;)

i hate eden because of the very rowdy crowd it brings in

for who Eden or Tongy?

sorry if it wasn't clear nando, people were talking about his night not being as busy as at pacha. i was simply saying that the busyness prob won't change cos of it being at eden, but the type of crowd clearly will.

pure pacha line-ups have averaged out in the last few years. Funnily enough the line ups have dwindled as the popularity has increased.

I've always thought Tong was rubbish but one of my best nights ever was at Pure pacha a good few years back. Laurent Garnier played and he was unbaleavable that night. The less said about Tong the better - he killed it (and not in a good way)

Having said that getting Tong is such a coup, he's prolly named his own terms and demanded being able to do Mambo. Given that Mambo have a strong tie-in with Pacha, selling tickets and doing pre-parties, it'll be interesting. Will Tong be pushing his Eden party while doing the ES from Mambo, while Mambo do a pre-party for Pacha's Friday night party:?:

Thats part of it, Radio 1 dont want him doing his show from Mambo!
The likelihood is that he'll do it in London, then get a private Jet to the Island!!

I had a great time at Pure Pacha in 2006 , (apart from the Spanish guy in the VIP section who liked to annoy everone by shining their green laser poiner at peoples faces) , and whilst Tongy was a draw i think the venue its self "made" the evening for me..walking out on the terrace as the sun comes up lovely.
As for Pete tong at Eden...i cant wait...always good to try new things.

Might mean that Pacha is less crowded now on Fridays which will be good for those of you that like Pacha.

Friday nights usually see the locals in Pacha so perhaps they want to return to a more "localised" friday or maybe they have realised people go to Pacha not to see Tongy.

I can't imagine Manumission taking place in Pacha as it's too akward a space for the show the MM puts on.

We visited Eden on Wednesday lasy year (2007) for Garlands and I have to say the crowd was really good, smiling and being friendly and I can't say that Pacha has ever being like that for me/us.

I'll watch with interest
