I used to feel sorry for him too, but he's let down so many of his fans, he rarely turns up for gigs, when he does he plays sh1t, a lot of his original supporters are turning against him now.

A number one album from a band which sacked him and then being dropped from his label with Babyshambles?! Constantly missing gigs and being so f*cked that when he does turn up, he can't perform?!
He's no Dave Gilmour or Linsdey Buckingham.

Just because you're a heroin addict and unreliable doesnt take away your talent!
I was saying if he really dedicated himself to it he could be one of the greats. Imagine if he didn't have all his problems? He's a brilliant songwriter no doubt about it.

Any by "our time" I was talking more of today's era, so not Pink Flloyd et al!

I'm sure he could be a nice guy but..........

I would like to give him a slap and say stop taking that heroin mate...... nick all his needles (carefully mind you)...... then hit him round the face with a wet fish. And walk off with a Clint Eastwood swagger into the sunset.

I saw him on Jonathan Ross and was really surprised at how likeable he was, drugs and all that aside, and I thought he sung really well live. Was surprised at what I ended up thinking of him.
 
seen the libertines in 2003 at king tuts in glasgow, was hooked on them. met hime a few times and the guy was a gentleman. i have 99% of the libertines released and unreleased material that was available a few years ago. if anyone doubts his talent (i know most dont) then im happy to share on soulseek but sadly all it shows is how far he's fallen, what a waste :(

I feel gutted everytime I hear a Libertines song, they were funkin gods in my eyes. I wish Carl and Pete would sort there differences and re-form.

I also think Pete's addiction is more to be pittied than everything, it must be the hardest thing in the world to get of smack. :cry:

Babyshambles pull out of Ibiza Rocks

Band postpone gig so Pete can enter rehab

Babyshambles have been forced to postpone their Ibiza Rocks show to allow Pete Doherty to return to rehab.

The band, who last night (July 22) performed at the Benicàssim Festival's Escenario Fiberfib stage, were due to play at San Antonio's M Bar next Wednesday (July 26).

But Ibiza Rocks promoter Andy McKay said the four-piece have had to pull out so Doherty can enter a rehabilitation clinic on Monday (July 24), reports the BBC.

He added: "We were all really looking forward to welcoming Babyshambles back to the island this year for Ibiza Rocks but, at the end of the day, we love and support Pete and it's his health and happiness that are important.

"He's promised us that he'll celebrate his recovery with a special comeback gig at Ibiza Rocks so we can't argue with that."

Doherty appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court in east London earlier this month for the latest review of his drugs treatment programme and he told the judge he planned to have an implant fitted within the next couple of weeks.

He is currently serving a community order with two years supervision and 18 months drug rehabilitation after admitting seven charges of possessing drugs including heroin, cocaine and cannabis back in April.

Prior to that Doherty also received a 12-month community order after he was sentenced on a separate charge of seven counts of possessing controlled drugs.

Rumours are circulating that Kate Moss and Pete Doherty are set to announce their engagement while in Ibiza this week.
A source told People newspaper: “Jade Jagger has booked the VIP room at Pacha nightclub exclusively for Kate, Pete and 50 friends for a ’special event’.”
“We’ve heard this is where they are having some kind of ceremony. It is supposed to be top secret. But Pacha’s VIP room is being jazzed up with decorations including balloons, champagne and bling.”
“Jade has ordered all the ingredients for Kate’s favourite drink, Bloody Mary. And Kate has asked for hundreds of bottles of Evian water to be shipped in.”
Kate’s friends Stella McCartney, Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie, Sadie Frost and Samantha Morton are all rumoured to be flying out to the island for the event.
The couple got back together recently after Kate saw Pete making concerted efforts to beat his drug addiction by having an anti-opiates implant fitted.
She flew back into the UK from Ibiza to watch the Babyshambles perform for Channel 4 show Transmission on Friday and during rehearsals, was overheard backstage telling a friend: “It’s great being [back] together, we have such a good time. I can’t be without him. I love him.”
A crew member for the show revealed that when Pete wasn’t on stage, the couple were inseparable: “We were not expecting Kate to come down, but then she rocked up with Pete. They were openly kissing and touching each other in the corridor without seeming to care who saw them. They looked really happy and relaxed together - Kate couldn’t stop grinning.”
However, a spokesperson for the pair insists: “they’re just friends.”
