People who get married abroad..help me with my dilemna!

sorry I didn't mean to offend you Mr. American...by calling I just get that idea of Cancun when I think of that :lol:

This girl's fiance's sister got married there too and it just looks all too horrific from the photos last year..and the way they described it...bla!

(and it takes away from my holiday time to good places!)

If it is near Cancun and a place called Playa Del Carmen (about 1 hour from Cancun) then I would go as it is really nice. Not amazing but a nice resort with good restaurants and much classier than Cancun
 
hmnnn.. it might be nice.. I guess I don't like the idea of expecting guests to fork out a few grand for a place they really don't want to go to..

Getting married in Mexico like that to me is just where all the Canadians and Americans go who have never been anywhere else outside their suburbia world. And thats fine if thats how they want to do it.

I would never expect anyone to shell out that type of money to come see me get married.

Anyway, its down the road so I'll see how it goes!

Playa del Carmen is a very nice town. I liked how the resort was more integrated with the city itself (though many of the nicer hotels were outside of town). Very quaint and friendly.
 
yeah its a bit ****e but as its someone you are very close to id just go along with it and be there for your mate
