well i havent seen any news from penelope´s line up! does anyone knows when the opening parties are and which are the nights?
 
Its not opening this year

there was an earlier thread explaining why - something about neighbour complaints

Not immensely disappointed. It could've been a great venue but the lay-out left a lot to be desired and the atmosphere reeked of 80s coke arseholes. It was like a scene out of American Psycho. On a bad day.
 
But you were there on the opening just like me, right Clara?

I saw some potential in the place... a bit of remodelling (which is what they promised) could have done the trick. Reviews of some of the events they got (like Monza) were pretty positive.

I was indeed. I had a good night but there was a lot of attitude there that I didn't like. Very much geared up towards the VIPs and the yachting crew, I thought. Very posey.

Monza sounded great and as I said, I reckon it could be a hit at Space.
 
I think the attitude was because it was the grand opening... at least, whenever I attend grand openings out here there always seems to be attitude in abundance.... not always indicative of subsequent nights.

You're right about the set-up though - very much geared to the VIP areas... the design reminded me of some Moscow clubs (very much so, in fact... specifically club Leto.. I could swear Penelope must have hired the same designer)

I thought the funniest part of that night was the sticky paint everywhere!
 
This is really bad news for me as I have a whole bunch of guys flying in on Friday July 14 and we were planning to go to Gorgeous at Penelope.

I had an email from the Gorgeous promoter in April in which I was told that, as far as they were aware, everything was still ok for their opening at Penelope (I sent this email on to Dr. Mick several weeks ago).

Is it a 100% guarantee that there will be no Penelope?

Does anyone know whether Gorgeous and Scandal will have a home elsewhere in July? I hope so as otherwise it will completely screw up my clubbing schedule.

Thanks. Glad to hear that Gorgeous is still on and I'm pleased it is at Space. A shame it is on Saturday though as I really wanted to go to see David Morales at Pacha on Saturday but, as my mates will out-vote me, I will have to go to Pacha on Friday instead for **** me I'm Famous (which will no doubt be crammed and uncomfortable!) with David Guetta :cry:.

Incidentally, I just returned to London from 3 weeks in Canada and went to the White Party (Bal en Blanc) in Montreal and got to see David Guetta there and then by pure chance I happened to be in Toronto on April 29 for the opening night of David Morales' new club SONIC (which complements his legendary Montreal afterhours, Stereo). Morales played an AMAZING set and Frankie Knuckles also tore up the dance floor.

If anyone happens to be going to Toronto I can highly recommend Morales new club -- and of course anyone who considers himself/herself a clubber and happens to be in Montreal HAS to check out Stereo.
