Peak season time in Ibiza

I have to be back at work on Monday August 27.. so am in Ibiza this year from August 13-23..

I already know it is more expensive, crowded, bla bla bla... but is it so much different when I get 'away from it' .....can I get away from it in August??

I never spend any time in the resort anyway, except to sleep, I'm usually up driving my car far away and making new discoveries every day.

I had to book in san an for the first couple of days then am meeting up with others a couple days later ( and moving over to PDB)

Problem was I couldn't find anwhere in PDB that would let me book for less than 7 days.

Isn't that the end of the Radio one weekend? Is it going to be a complete nightmare? Even if I do get in my car and go far far away every day?

In previous years i've gone at the very end of August/ beginning of September.

Am I going to be surrounded by 16 year olds?

Enlighten me everyone!

I have only ever been to Ibiza once in August and I said never again cos the clubs are sooooo busy, the Radio 1 weekend does attract a bit of a young beer boy crowd and expect to queue for ages for taxis etc, plus I found it way too hot.

But on the other hand it's Ibiza, I did find there were a few more negatives in August than at other times but it's not as if they are going to spoil your holiday is it ;)

Just be aware of things like queuing for taxis so give yourself extra time, clubs will be way busier so get there bit earlier, book tables at nice restaurants a few days in advance etc - you'll be fine ;)

thats it... I can't imagine having a bad holiday in Ibiza!:) I look at it this way.. its the only holiday longer than a few days I can get before Christmas, so I figured its better to have this than nothing at all!

So really it was just the crowds then that was the main negatives?

Maybe this means i'll just have to get to the clubs earlier and have to spend more time on the dancefloor  8)

Exactly - at the end of the day if I could only go to Ibiza once and it had to be in August I'd be there with tassles on

Yep the main thing which I didn't like was the busy-ness, if you don't mind crowds etc then it prob won't bother you so much. But def get to places like Space prob earlier than you would normally ;)

I would love to live closer and be able to hop off to ibiza 2 or 3 times a year!

But still looking forward to this so much... even if it will be crowded dancefloors!

...I do get in my car and go far far away every day...

you can`t get "far far away" -
simply because the longest distance is around 40 kilometers :-)

ps:
but even at peak-season its no problem to find nice quiet places ...

oh I know! but usually I go the wrong way so it takes me a longer time than it should to get to particular places.. so it seems far far away
I do remember taking windy little roads up north last year though where I didn't pass many other cars!

I highly recommend the road from Puerto de San Miguel to Beniras ;)

yeah i read about that in your review!!

That one isn't so bad.. I think there was another one I took last year that was much more fun! ( by fun I mean clinging to the cliffs! ;))

We are going in August this year for the first time and we're actually going for the radio one weekend from 10-16th! 8O Got talked into it lol!!

We are staying in a private apartment in Figueretes as I thought it was far enough away from the madness of pdb and still close enough to walk to space so we dont have to queue to get a taxi! :D

I also had trouble finding somewhere to stay for less that a week cos we have to leave our apartment really early in the morning when we dont fly till the evening :? I gave up in the end and we'll just hire a car for a few days instead!

What are your clubbing plans while you are there? :)

August is very busy but there is a lot of excitment in the air around that time. Yes, there are loads of places to go to get away from the crowds.

Club wise - Personally I prefer to go to the clubs after about 3am when the main crowds have long gone.

(for clubbing) Dare I say it, I prefer August to September 8O
