I noticed that there are chairs on the beach where you can lay down.

if you are a customer of 1 of the hotles, you wont have to pay for them.

how much is it for others?

you have to pay for the loungers on the beach. the hotels' own loungers are by their pools and these are normally free for hotel guests.

prices are from 4 euro to 5 euro a bed depends which part of the beach you go on...ie bora bora is 5 i think.further up near plam beach hotel end they are a lot more.but you get very smart beds.waiter service as well.bora bora beds have a very nice white cover on then.

loungers are not aloud to be moved from hotel area to beach.plus i think only jet aptts charge you for the beds around pool area.even if you are a guest.thats how they make money

bora bora sounds sweet.

I heard mixed comments about taking drinks to the beach (daytime)
is there some policy about that?

Bora Bora beds are 10euro's each. 13 euro if you buy one bed for 2 people.:o

so the idea of bringing small icebox with me to the beach, away from the bora bora area in meaningless

You can have drinks that you brought with you on the beach. You are not allowed to take drinks you bought in Bora Bora bar onto the beach...
