Paul Van Dyk Float Your Boat Party

As pvd has always been my favourite DJ this was a must for me and truly anticipated this well before I set off for the white isle, all aboard and the boat was rammed full, not to bad that it was uncomfortable though, then before we set off there was an announcement that paul van dyk's flight had been delayed and could possibly miss his one and only boat party, no way this was going to happen. Step in the replacement Bryan Kearney, I didn't buy a ticket to see Bryan Kearney I paid to see Paul Van Dyk, still a great boat party but all these tickets were sold on the basis of one name, I've asked through spotlights facebook for a refund as I did feel really let down, they announced that as an apology that Paul Van Dyk would make an appearance and play a set at plastic bar and we would get photos and t shirts, plastic was rammed to the rafters couldn't get near him and no t shirt, huge disappointment and the only let down of what can only be decribed as an epic holiday

I understand your disappontment richard, so much for starters.

facts are facts - PvD missed his connection and couldn't make it in time to play the boat. this is bad luck and I know that FYB were just as unhappy about this as all the clients.

from a promoter point of view, FYB have done all they could. they've announced his absence before the boat left and offered refunds for anyone that left the boat. everyone that stayed on the boat knew they weren't going to see pvd on the boat and thus accepted. yes, plastik was certainly busy, but at such short hand notice I think that was a decent solution. people told us bryan kearney was fantastic on the boat, then lots of people enjoyed seeing pvd in a pretty private environment (instead of huge venues as he normally plays) plus then continue at cream.

again, I understand you're not happy PvD didn't make the boat. but I really think FYB did what they could, they offered refunds for people not wanting to stay on the boat, they made him play for the boat clients only at plastik. last but not least, changes in line ups can always happen. you buy a ticket to a certain party (be it in a club or on a boat) and sadly DJ no-shows can happen every now and then.

I know, I was just hugely disappointed that my hero didn't make it and your right Bryan Kearney was great, can't fault him, there was no announcements therefore to leave the boat and claim a refund.

I was standing right next to the dj booth when the statement was done and there was no mention of leaving the boat. anyway my holiday was amazing I guess this was the one I looked forward to the most.
