its just weird.....

Why is it weird :? Loads of DJs aren't just tied to one club.

Danny Tenaglia has played Pacha, Space, DC10, Amnesia, Privilege.

MAW have played Pacha, El Divinos, Space, Pin-Up.

Etc etc etc................

I kinda know this I just think he´s really alternative and plays a lot of dif´stuff. you never know what to expect, nor do you with AArmin, Jules or PVD these days really...

Exactly, trance music has evolved but at the end of the day the likes of Oakie, Tiesto et al are still essentially trance DJs in one of its various forms.

ok so you were there in Denmark when PVD played?? aha! interesting. All of the sudden he didnt play trance, he played Michael Jackson - Billei Jean and then continued in a more progressive dark direction.......so :-)
I believe Barbie also mentioned something about being confused about what style Oakie stands for these days......

aslo<<Jules (must have heard him a dozen times) started out more cheesy, then played more dark, progressive - something really weird, then back to cheese and now I dunno havent heard him since Ibiza where he apparently went loco again and played a lot of weird undefined shite in EDEN.....

No suprisingly I didn't see PVD in Denmark  but I have seen him more times than you've probably had hot dinners and essentially he is a trance DJ, yes he might be more progressive at times or embrace other musical styles but at the end of the day he is a trance DJ, the music has just evolved and you obviously haven't.

As for Oakie, I saw him 4x last year and he was still playing trance. DJs these days are less likely to stick to one genre during their sets and that's what makes dance music so interesting and exciting. Imo I preferred Oakie in the 1990s in his Cream days but I know lots of people who love trance (eg. Tom) who still rate Oakie as the Daddy of all thing Trancelike.

As for Judge Jules, I wouldn't waste my time going to see him and probably haven't seen him for 3+ years so have no opinion on him cos he's just not my kind of thing.

I wasnt referring to you B, I was commenting what Robo said....
but nevermind really.
At the end of the day they ARE trance DJ´s - but they are hard to get these days, as you dont know what kind of trance they play...they change a LOT a lot, and I dunno about the hot dinner thing. I might have seen them just as many times as you really - you never know....

Maybe you have, I'm not a massive fan of PVD but have probably seen him 30+ times in my life.

Music just changes and evolves, like trance has, back in the 1990s the old Oakie, Gatecrasher etc sounded fresh and interesting but things move on. A trance classics night now and again is still good but I know if I was going out and listening to the likes of that most wkends it would sound tired now, hence DJs moving things on.

of course they are, they HAVE to in order to move on and change the style from year to year. To be honest I´d like to see some compeltely new events taking place in Ibiza this year - judging from whats going on in Amnesia this year, I dont see so many new things. Such a shame really.

But I hope there will be a lot of good tranc,e progressive, melodic, uplifting or whatever - as long as its trance :D
