Paul Oakenfold

Ive been reading the Spotlight Calendar and it seems that Oakey is playing the terrace at We love.

Now i posted last year, after i had witnessed the most self indulged set ever at Amnesia from the arrogant *****, that this guy should retire.

Has anyone seen him recentley and is he still doing the "trick" where he talks to everyone one of his hangers on aroundthe DJ box and then quickly mixes a track to go back "chatting"????????????????????????????????

The guys a ***** You only have to read the journal on his website to see that!!!

Just wandering what kind of set you reckon he will play in August???

I don't think he'll take any risks after the essential mix back in '06

He's still a **** though!

I see he's playing Pure Pacha as well this year.

Why do promoters keep on booking him? Does anyone really give a **** about him anymore?

Sorry to be ignorant but what happened with the essential mix in 06???

I remember him ****ing up at creamfields one year when he was doing the essential mix!!

:spank:

Doesn't really surprise me he plays pre made mixes...!

Maybe he should have stuck 1 on in Amnesia that night in Aug '06 instead of playing this pile of sh1t! :

His Cream "the residency" album is one if the best CD's I own - he really was a legend. Decided to go and see him again last year at Live @ Loch Lomond and again he was a major let down. I vowed that night to never bother my ass to go to see him again.

YES

BULLET IN THE GUN!!!! What a track - still makes me feel sick when I hear it lol

Creamfield 99 he was unreal, now he is gash

agreed, he was good for a couple of years after as well, one of my best nights ever was Sugarshack 8th birthday with oakenfold. he has always been good since ive sen him sice but noware near as good and his radio 1 wekend sets have been a joke!

I seen him end of last year; done quite a bit of chatting in the booth & what not but must say it was still a cracking set/nite. tune after tune, maybe not at his best anymore but it was a great nite.

I heard he was on form for the Space Closing Party last year and delivered a cracking set?

Even though I've seen a few poor sets (Amnesia last year) where he's spent too much time chatting to the people in the Dj booth I'll be going to check out his set at the Terrace as I fly in to Ibiza the night before. If he's on form it could be blindingly good!

The Terrace is very focused on the Dj so hopefully he'll deliver a cracking Oakey set.:spank:

Saw him last year at Armada when he was filling in for Armin Van Buuren. What a letdown! He was horrible and was extremely disinterested in the crowd. He was chatting non stop with people up in the DJ booth. To think that I missed Carl Cox and John Digweed to see him!!!! That was my first Oakenfold experience and my last! Never again.....

Yeah, that was the Amnesia night that I saw him filling in for Armin. I wished i'd seen Cox & Digweed at Space instead. Looks like i'm gonna miss Digweed again as my flight gets in too late to catch the Amnesia Show. Gutted!! Wish Digweed was playing a few more shows whilst i'm there.

We want the Oakey of 99 back on decks, not Cokey!:D

Can't see it myself he cares more for the money than the music these days :x

I'll forgive him for producing that- It's a beautiful tune, and Southern Sun (Tiesto Remix) also. The rest of his work is sh1t in my opinion

Heard him first on Ibiza a few years ago and he was brilliant. Now (unfortunately) he is overrated IMO. Saw him last year in Holland @ Trance Energy, it was awful :(

He is def over the hill IMO.

But: Perhaps I´ll change my mind when I see him on Aug, 3th on the Space terrace

I read an interview in IDJ or Mixmag with him , I thought he'd sort of put the record straight and come across like a nice guy but he came across like a complete twat! He openly admitted he wasnt inspired or liked todays dance music and was talking about how he could get paid much more for scoring a film or computer game. Basically admitted he had no interest in djing any more . Promoters need to stop feeding his ego and not book him cos he just doesnt care any more
