One thing i've learnt over time. It ain't always about the peaktime bangers. Sometimes a subtle nagging hook is enough and these guys were the masters of that. One for the Sunday morning crew

Heard some Utah Saints today... missed that one the first time around, but it's a retro sort of vibe. It was on the Fatboy Slim iHeart channel on the Smart TV (the come with the app, so you can play iHeart on the TV while you fold your laundry, like me).

my abiding memory of pikes this summer was hearing this whilst I was feeling a bit squiffy on the water stool. the world momentarily felt ok. I think Frank Tope was playing at the time, slowed it down a notch and it sounded amazing. hadn't heard in years.

the 2nd track on that is lush. not so keen on the others - a bit too '90s bumpty' for me
Liking that last track a lot, but I get your point.
Some excellent fusion records came out of Japan early nillies.
Played these quite a lot back then.
