Pacha vs Ushuaia - Clubbing options for couple in late 30s

Hi,

Going with my wife to Ibiza last week of July 2015 and would like to go clubbing at least 2-3 nights. We are both in our late 30s and would like to avoid the overly rowdy and overly drunk teens (+ harrassment of the wife) but would also like to experience at least one or two "musts" in Ibiza, "musts" that i won't find anywhere else (in terms of clubbing).

As a "must" was thinking about Pacha or Ushuaia (preferably with David Getta).

Can anybody give me an idea of how full and crowded Pacha with David Getta (or any other mainstream DJ) gets in late July? Will it be very hot, sweaty, people stepping and falling on each other, spilling drinks, big line-ups for bathrooms, etc, etc? Will it be a very tight crowd, like in a concert or more open spaces so you can dance a bit? Will there be too many overly drunk teens? People well dressed or no dress code at all?? To experience Pacha would it be better to go on another calmer night, like Martin Solveig night, for example?

Would Ushuaia be a good alternative (for david Getta) as for having more space, at last more air to breath (besides being a cheaper alternative)?

Any suggestions for a finer, older crowd, clubbing for the other nights?

Thanks!!

well dont know about guetta but dont think its like what ur saying.

if ur planing pacha then sundays or fridays sundays especially very good for your age.

ushuaia i dont know, u can try destino instead

David guetta pacha will be very busy in July most if the mainstream nights in any of the clubs are likely to be. Don't think you have to worry to much about drinks being spilt people falling all over the place and bothering you maybe something like glitterbox space on a Friday or even flower power at pacha great fun night and nice alternative

^this, plus Elrow on Saturday at Space.

I wouldnt say that Ushuaia is a "must." Where you heard that dude? There are other "musts" that I would put before there

I'd recommend Glitterbox at space too, I'm 39 and the misses is 38 she loves it it's her favourite night! Definitely a mix of ages and lots of the dressed up crowd you seem to be looking for. Pacha is definetly a smarter crowd too, although I've never been to Guetta. I think Destino is a good shout, maybe for Solumon +live. Also I'll add neither my girlfriend or myself have ever been harassed in any way in a club or anywhere else in Ibiza in many years visiting.

both events with david guetta (the one at pacha as well as the one in ushuaïa) are the two most successful events of both venues. both parties will be VERY busy at the end of july. it will definitely be hot - everywhere is in ibiza at the end of july, it will be sweaty (because that's what happens when you dance, especially with the temperatures at this time of the year). ibiza is very relaxed regarding dress codes, so you can basically wear anything. people do tend to dress up a tiny bit more for pacha - it's always been like that. but don't expect everyone being dressed up to the nines - absolutely not.

if you want to see david guetta in ibiza, you'll have to accept a packed club. if you can't deal with that, get a table. else change your plans and attend a few other events as suggested by the folk here! :)

Not sure suggestions for DC10, Solomun etc really go with the "mainstream DJ's, preferably Guetta" thing though. Not sure what you're looking for exists really, "mainstream" music at Pacha or Ushuaia but with an older, more 'sophisticated' crowd and not too busy in peak season. If you're gonna do one I'd say Ushuaia might suit you better, because at least you can step back a bit there and have a bit of space if you're not a fan of a packed dancefloor etc. Agree with the poster who said it's not really an Ibiza must-do though.

I wouldn't recommend David Guetta at Pacha as it is dangerously packed. I have done it twice and wouldn't do it again, Iv only booked for his night in September because he's not there lol

My sister has been to both Ushuaia and pacha for him and preferred Ushuaia.

I think the Bob Sinclair nights at pacha look good but haven't been personally, the videos on YouTube that I found for it looks good

I think you might enjoy Pure Pacha on Saturday. It's more House based, and not as EDM as Guetta. It is the night that I take my less underground friends to when they just want a full on Saturday party! An up for it international / local crowd 100% there for the party! Though again be warned..... it's busy....almost as busy as Guetta. They also have some good DJs this year e.g. Masters At Work etc have a few dates....

^this, plus Elrow on Saturday at Space.

I wouldnt say that Ushuaia is a "must." Where you heard that dude? There are other "musts" that I would put before there

That's just it "Diver" i have been looking at youtube and trying to figure out before hand at least 1 or 2 good shows/clubs. I am trying to decide know because i figure when i am there everything will be sold out or very expensive. So please let me know what are the "musts" in Ibiza...taking in account that i have been to many clubs and concerts when i was younger (in other places) but want to experience something that you would say "can't go to Ibiza without going to.....".

Something that your other half will probably enjoy it's fun not something you see many other places is supermartxe for the big production and show

Thanks everyone for your opinions i will definetely check into all of them.

As for the mainstream DJ, my main alternative to Guetta would be Martin Solveig at Pacha since my wife really likes him and so do i but i figure it will be just as crowded as David Guetta. I just think it would be fun (and therefore in my head a "must") being in a club listening to the same music as you would hear in any other club in the world with the difference that this time your DJ is the actual artist...i find that mind blowing...but if i won't bear the crowd or if it is too hot because air conditioner at club isn't strong enough and if its like i read "that many people left Pacha (Guetta nights) after 15-30 min" i figure it is not worth the trouble!!! I always have the opportunity, if i want, to go to their concerts when they come to my hometown Portugal...but a concert is a hole different kind of entertainment since it is for the masses as in a club its for a limited and exclusive group of people!!

The idea i get frommany opinions and youtube is that being at Pacha with a mainstream DJ is like being up front in a concert, am i right? I might be willing to experience this at least once if i get many opinions saying it's worth it, good and fun, even if a bit overcrowded.

I am also looking for a place to go the other nights just to chill, dance with the wife a bit, have a couple of drinks and therefore also looking somewhere more sophisticated, that's why maybe i confused some of you...sorry...i am actually looking for 2 things: the sophisticated older age club and the "can't miss when in Ibiza club".

Thanks a lot once more!!

Hed Kandi at Es Paradis on a Saturday might be a good idea? Never been myself but always thought of it as a kind of nicer, grown up kinda night with varied music.

i am actually looking for 2 things "Bungle": the sophisticated older age club and the "can't miss when in Ibiza club". For the "must" i figure i will have to include a mainstream DJ...maybe i'll risk the Pacha Martin Solveig and for the other nights i will check all the opinions given on this forum...and i have quite a list to check :) !!!

solveig will be less busy than guetta.

if you don't mind spending the money, a night at lío might be something for you. have dinner there (very expensive, be warned, but at least it's also good), watch the show and then have a dance afterwards. alternatively only get there for about 1am and then only go for a bit of party. you'll have to pay to get in though if you only come for the party and this is one of the places where you definitely have to dress up a bit - smart casual.

Just thought I'd add my comments to that of above.....

I'm of the 'older generation' and would absolutely recommend you steer clear of Guetta at Pacha, went there last year and it was by far the worst night - the place is jam packed, to the point where it feels unsafe / uncomfortable! I would however recommend pacha on Friday night, much nicer crowd/atmosphere - and depending on how late in July (if it's last week) then you'll catch Pete Tong.

We saw guetta at the radio 1 party (free Last year) and I'd recommend that, you would be to see a variety of acts/DJs that you hear on the radio/clubs...plus although it's rammed, that tends to be mainly at the front, so go near the back of Ushuaia and here's plenty of room to enjoy! Plus there's something just magical about being out in the sun, planes coming in to land and decent music on the go...IMO.

As for Martin solveig, if you're a fan of his an alternative option is to head to cafe mambo for the pre-party....and catch the infamous sunset:)

I would avoid David Guetta's night due to the fact that it is ludicrously busy - there is no room to dance whatsoever and it is full of people who would rather just stand and film the event on their phones rather than dance and enjoy themselves.

With regard to people falling over you and spilling drinks etc. - Ibiza is generally not like that so you should be fine.

Must dos -IMO- would be Bora Bora, sunset at Cala Conte (much better than the sunset strip), Pacha on any night apart from Guetta's night on Thursday or Defected at Amnesia.

You will have a great time wherever you go.
