Pacha reveals 2013 Parties

Haha! And your 'agenda' has tended to be to make sure people know, that you know, snippets of unconfirmed information on the island from various secret sources or plain gossip. The last interview you did however was great

I know more than you presume about Rocktronic. It was common knowledge what was been said by one of the main promoters of the festival BEFORE it went ahead last year.

With regard to the Urgell comments.... I think they are disingenuous to the context they were spoken in. Its clear somebody has a agenda here.....

i am a partner and one of the main promoters of 123 maybe you would like to name the other one ?? regarding the comments, they said them not someone with an agenda. maybe you dont believe man landed on the moon either

and by the way bez, ok if you are at IMS i will do your interview, but you need to come armed with better information than you keep spouting at the moment or i suspect you may not publish it

No offence, Danny, but Vegas sucks - and so did what Pacha became. It was distasteful and I honestly did not realize the extent to which the owners were led into it - if what is written is reflective of their true feelings. They come over as feelings of people who felt they had supported the creation of a monster.
.

Powerless multi-millionaire Ibiza nightclub owners forced into years of rammed dancefloors, huge turnover and profit!

Hi Danny. Yes I will be in town for IMS and I would be happy to interview you. Thanks. I will publish exactly what you give me......no agenda.

Tim Sheridan on the article/Pacha...

"At risk of blundering cos I have no wish to give the Urgell clan even a moment of my time by reading that, I was a frontline promoter in Ibiza for a long time and I know who issues the denuncias and I have felt the wrath of Pacha.

The disco mafia is very real and the Urgell mob are key players. It's they who were behind the property plays, they who have been striving for a decade to turn it into San Tropez and ending up with Marbella. They are they key players in bringing EDM to the island, subliminal, ministry, guetta, swedish house ****s….

They've been chipping away at the island long and hard and are the main protagonists when it comes to shutting it off from real people and making it an enclave for Yacht faced ****ers and velvet roping the whole place off.

The thing that really gets me is when they do the Flower Power parties and try to play this card that they are the island's heritage and soul. At least the Matutes clan etc don't pretend to be right on. "

my personal view, i've no problem with the owners taking a stand about paying over the odds for hum drum djs (their comment about the music not changing in 20yrs, in repect to some of the djs they still had there, it hadn't really, but i do think they are perhaps getting a bit old in the tooth to be hands on with a club...of course the music shouldn't be for OAP's to like!!

although by admitting they are paying less for dj's, will this translate into cheaper entrance prices to their club? reduced VIP tables taking up the space? or will they keep milking it?

was my first visit to biiza last year, i went to pacha for all the gone pete tong night (with sasha) and for me it was the worst club & worst night i had out the week....music was average (seen tong & sasha numerous times over the years, wasn't a great night for either) and the club just wasn't doing it for me, atmosphere / people wise.

I think some of the non-Guetta nights pre-sales are €37.... which is a hell of a lot cheaper than last year...

I have a question. I could research online, but it'd probably be more entertaining hearing the different opinions from Spotlight members, but:

Where do the Urgells stand in the grand scheme of things in regards to Pacha the worldwide brand?? I know as much that Pacha Ibiza is considered the jewel in the crown of their empire and Pacha is widely regarded as an "Ibizian" brand, even though the 1st Pacha was on mainland Spain. But who runs the whole show? Who overlooks the whole international business? Anyone? Or is it really just a huge franchise model? And how much power does the top dog wield over, say, the Urgells?

I heard that the Pacha at Sitges is very much commercial, retro & cheesy music (70s & 80s, not Guetta before anyone makes the quip!) - perhaps a bit more like the Flower Power concept? But their other destinations - New York, Sharm El Sheikh - very much embracing electronic music, perhaps arguably moreso than Pacha Ibiza of previous years, especially in terms of the, ahem, "EDM" sound.

we all knew FMIF would be expensive...

what do you think about the 37€ for all other parties until mid june? i think it's really fair. of course I expect those prices to go up later in the season, but it's a good start I think.
Going back to the money question.
i think 37euros for the other nights, going on some of the djs listed & for them being new concept nights is far too high, 25-30 would be more sensible. Considering the financial state of Europe & getting value for money.
No Ibiza for me this year anyway, off to Croatia for a festival instead (unknown) and by the looks of it that option is getting very popular, I'd say a lot of that is diverting away from Ibiza & the prices on the island

But there's nothing like a bit of self-loathing for standing by and getting minted off something you don't respect now, is there ? Many a rich man has been sickened by that which has made him rich and those who have facilitated it !

Spoken like a true Scotsman !

Croatia. Loadza booze ;). Plenty of nude beaches too :).

I've read some pompous guff on here before but this takes being up yourself to a whole new level.

 ... no-one's "up themselves" - keep a very open mind about many things but trashy commercial electro is just that ! Obviously not everyone agrees - or the doors wouldn't be full to bursting every night "from Miami to Ibiza"

It's they ... who have been striving for a decade to turn it into San Tropez and ending up with Marbella.

Nothing too wrong with St Tropez spirit - at the Byblos at least in any event. It's all those Marbella types who came along for the ride who messed the whole idea up !

.... couldn't somebody have brought in a better class of hedonists to get rich from .... with some better music ?
