Pacha - Over-hyped rip-off?

Only been to Pacha once, but Sander Kleinenburg was playing with Hernan, which to me is just about the dream line up, so I had a cracking night just because of the music. The club on the other hand I did not like. Like many have said before far too big VIP area, poor dance floor, arrogant staff and other punters who are thinking - look at me in the VIP area with my champagne, aren't I special - no your not, get off your arse and enjoy yourself.

gpittuk - Why you getting so annoyed about some Spanish knobhead not having manners?! Mate, just let it go over your head! Instead of getting worked up about it, just laugh at them! Thats what they deserve! lol

but trust me, this is very much a Spanish thing! If a Spanish person picks up the fone it's 'WHAT' or 'SPEAK'... Even the Latin American people find this behaviour odd! lol

Exactly, they are arrogant, but why let it get to you? And another thing, if people want to spend good money to feel superior in the VIP then why not? I suppose you get angry with people that drive expensive cars too for the same reason? They're not doing anything to you so just ignore them! I just don't get this Pacha bashing, I've been for 4 years, 6 times, and it's the best club on earth equall with Space. I don't get Amnesia though, only 2 rooms & nowhere to sit for a rest / chill out!

well im heading over on saturday with my gf and i was thinking about buying a vip ticket for pacha as my gf hates if its to packed in clubs and you can't get dancing and stand for ages for a drink, ive been 3 times to ibiza but never to pacha so its really a personal thing some people like & some dont so hopefully if i splash the cash ill be coming out with a smile on my face:)

Pacha is my fave club in the world for atmosphere, layout, interior etc. all good, never had a bad night there.

I'll second that, you won't find any other club in Europe let alone Ibiza which is as beautiful as Pacha. Who cares about the size of the0 v.i.p- it is what it is.

The nights aren't all my cup of tea but I can't fault the look and the vibe of the place- it really is something special.

been to pure pacha, work rather than pleasure, the last 2 weeks.

both times really enjoyed it and wanted to stay longer.

basement jaxx rocked, goldfish are great, mark knight tonked it out and this week cometh the swedes!

You won't struggle to get served in Pacha, there's never anyone at the bar in my experience...i wonder why that is:lol:

Yes it was David Guetta's night and we did expect it to be busy - but not to be crushed to the wall, barely able to breathe never mind dance.
So is Ibiza quiet or busy this year lol make ya mind up people.

I find Pacha's layout very unique; I can understand, though, if you're with friends and your so rammed you can't do anything; that is very annoying. I was at a Pure Pacha night last year and the entire club was absolutely rammed (I liked the crowd, though - the terrace with the champagne glass was filled with an older, very rich crowd). Other nights it was half empty. I'm with FatPhil, though; I've been there, done that when it comes to club nights so I'd rather be on the beautiful terrace in the moonlight. I go to a club for atmosphere, and I found the atmosphere I crave is in the Ibiza clubs, and especially Pacha. I just drink before I get there and save myself the high prices! It was easier to get free drinks from Aravella than it was to try to buy a bottle - go figure!

I think the club can always get rammed due to it's small capacity, even if the island is quiet (as everyone has been saying). It's not like the place is the size of Madison Square Garden; everyone on holiday will fill the club to say they were there and the poor girl who wrote this thread has a lousy time due to overcrowding!

just spent 2 weeks @ ibiza, many parties are dying or already dead,
but "smaller" quality places like pacha will always be (more or less) packed ...

btw - we spent a lot of time on the terrace, the champagne girls we saw
were not too impressing ... but lots of beautiful girls

There's never a lack of beautiful girls at Pacha or anywhere in Ibiza. I don't know what they did this year with the champagne girls, though - that booker needs to a right ear bashing. :spank:

Whoever saw Aravella last year will know what I'm talking about - my jaw was on the floor. She was truly captivating.

Theres thing I love and dislike about Pacha but I will def still go there. I loved Pure Pacha and Subliminal, can't really remember Sanchez as much from last year, its always been really busy but we always get to clubs before 2 so we can claim our space and have a wander round without being squashed. I think the decor is top knotch and theres not really another club on the island that's quite as good but I don't like all the steps, it's too much for a girl in heels and most of the steps are pointless. I love the chillout areas and the terrace although what I don't like about the chillout areas inside is that they (IMO) encourage smoking as people lounge on the sofas rather than dance so this year I ended up leaving earlier (despite loving Morillo) as the smoke was unbearable, it seemed everyone around me was puffing away and my dress stunk the next day...not a prob in any of the other nights I went on. I'm not sure why people are paying 60euros though as that's ridiculous, 've not seen any of the nights cost that much for tickets, isn't that only on the door???? I wouldn't pay 60 for anywhere, the most I've paid is 50 last year for Manumission, I paid 40 with a free glass of champagne this year for Subliminal but I saw tickets for 35 in one bar in Ibiza town.

We went to Roger Sanchez on a Monday, nice and chilled out, went to FMIF and was completely different, different crowd too (lots of good looking spaniards)

But you can see the difference in nights.

i think if going to go to pacha i think it will be subliminal with erick morillo looks like the kind of night id enjoy, now the next choice is too buy the vip tickets or just go with the flow decisions decisions and only 2 days to go yea ha :)

is that right is it against peoples religion to drink in pacha :):):) or r the toilets busier :):)

I can't believe now someone has complained that Pacha is too smokey and that they left early due to excessive smoke!! What a bunch of whngers is all I can say! What's next in the great Pacha bashing? The pizza is overpriced? The dancers are mingers? The dancefloor is too sticky? Get a life and stop letting trivialities bother you so much!

No hype for me at all. I just really, really LOVE Pacha! In every possible way. I find it the most beautiful and special club I've ever been too. Had a lot of 'tears in my eyes' moments there. More than in any other club.

But as with everything, these experiences and perceptions of a place are so personal. For instand, I don't mind the crowd, the busyness, the VIP-section, the barstaff and the prices (well, somewhat cheaper would be nice ;)). In other words, I'm not irritated by all these things which gives me all the time and peace to enjoy the club and music.

Can't wait to go back!

I adore Pacha - it makes an effort in my book - my only negative comment is the VIP section is now far too big - in comparison, the dancefloor is a postage stamp in size, and a good club such as Pacha, which is renowned for its good DJ's needs a decent sized dancefloor - its the heart and soul of a venue, not sitting around tapping your foot drinking champagne.

I love being able to wander around the club, - I love the diversity in the type of clubbers in there, I prefer it to any other club on the Island if I am honest - specially when you compare it to the souless venue that Space has become in the past few years...... (to me anyway....)

hahaha sounds like I got someones back up :) I love pacha, one of my fav clubs, I would always recommend it as I did in my post, the fact that I found it too smokey doesn't stop me going, I hate smoking and love the fact that its banned in clubs in England so it's annoying that it can dampen a night out in one of the best clubs in the world, smelly clothes, red itchy eyes and a stinking cough by the end of the night that lasted till I got home, not pleasant when I choose not to smoke but hey ho, when I say I left early, it was about 4.30 so I hardly missed out, Erik Morillo rocked!
