In charging people for drinks.

I know it's not usually too much of a consideration, but trying to have an easy one after going out for a meal in Saturday, and thus "got my drink on", and they're charging £4.50 for a bottle of beer.

Shocking. And thinking about it, Egg was charging 4 last time i was in there. Is this the norm these days? The last time I can remember how much drinks were (usually it's just a fistfull of notes, in return for a tray of coppers, and everyone's happy) I'm sure it was like a (then shocking) about £2.80 for a beer.

As I said, not normally a consideration, but it just detracts IMO from "relaxing" too much, y'know?

Or maybe I'm just being a tightwad?

I pay about £4 for a bottle in the clubs here, so I'm not too surprised.

Still, it does seem like a bit of a rip-off when you take a step back... I suppose I'm not usually so conscious of the massive blood loss when I'm tossing rubles at the bar.

tightwad for sure.

even ooop north you'll find yourself paying 4 or more for a beer in some clubs:?

I never normally notice but £4.50 sounds excessive.

(Apols I went off radar X - did nothing all weekend and fell asleep very Saturday - blew out Frank the Tank too - didn't see him about did ya?)

Sounds about right to me - but agreed it's too much.

I know of something else that's a couple of quid cheaper and sets you up for the night so genuinely, why bother? 8O ;)

I'll just buy one round and that's where it stops.

Indeed - I'm starting to think I won't bother drinking in clubs anymore. I always drink booze constantly when I'm out even if that's for a couple of days. Not sure I get much use out of it when otherwise 'assisted', so I'm probably just wasting money.
