I don't know whether to go this year.. I'm put off by it for some reason. Usually go to either Subliminal Sessions or Release Yourself at Pacha, but trying to 'do different' this trip. Has anyone been and what are your opinions if so?

Ta muchly :)

Tbh I think the line-ups are quite weak most weeks this year. The first year Tongy was having guests like Deep Dish, Tenaglia, Humphries etc and they seem to have gone steadily downhill. He probably realises he doesn't need the big-name guests on a Friday cos it will always draw the crowds in cos it's on a Friday night. I find that on Fridays/Saturdays @ Pacha you tend to get a lot of people who aren't there for the music and the DJs and are just there cos it's Pacha so sometimes the atmosphere can be a bit flat.

That said I have had some really good nights there and will probably be there next Friday and definitely in September for JLC and Danny Howells.

I'd probably see who's playing the weeks you're there and then make a decision, if it's someone you're not overly bothered about I think there's better nights @ Pacha.

Oh yes.

I wasn't going to bother with Pure Pacha either this year (although I am a big Tong fan, there's usually too much other stuff going on, last year was Renaissance the night before...), but defo going to that one.

Thanks Barbie!

Jeff Mills when I go.. but Deep Dish at Yoshitoshi (or however you spell it) the night before might be the better option. :D

danny howells cd is quality. cd 1 is sort of terracey stuff where the second cd is quite driving techy.

yeah I've been listening to the Danny Howles mix lots, love the gittar break on cd 1...

prefer cd two, expecially towards the end :D

Yeah Cd2 is definitely more upbeat. Didnt like any of the CD's at first i honestly thought it was seriously boring. A few listens later and i was hooked!

Genius!

it's always these sort of cd's that stand the length of time and become classics

For all you Danny Howells fans, he is meant to be playing at The End on 20th August... his last set there last Sept was amazing, so keep an eye out for that one.

As for the Miami GU - Best GU cd for a very long time... gotta love Mimosa - End of me (def one for the space crowd)... Dont know how anyone can say CD1 is boring??

I'd go Deep Dish on Thursdays over Pure Pacha on Fridays.
