Are they better that Creepy Crawley??
Brighton, Im afraid, had no night train so thats off the list....
a little about the current status:

My rent for the mo' is currently 300 pounds incl all utility bills - and if i have to add the additional monthly expense of 230,60 for the travel between Mortlake and Gatwick.....thats almost 535 pounds ! and that does NOT include IG's crazy spendings on clothes and stuff. So thats crap!

Might be good for me to get away from Bond Street and Knighsbridge also haha!

So trains run all night from 3 Bridges area and from Crawley there´s a bus that goes directly and takes 15 minutes. So I think if if I get a nice place somewhere nearby Gatwick (with the luuuvely sound of roaring engines above me every second lol*) - I save both money and save myself from facing one hellava b*tch of a commute, should I have stand-by and night shifts!

I can go back and forth a million times to London for the amount of money ill save. Lets face it, Cabin Crew jobs aint gonna make you rich - but youll have fun!

TELL ME IF THREE BRIDGES AREA IS BETTER as im off Friday to have a look at rooms in those 2 areas, and need to make up my mind pretty soon!

ok nice...but there MUST be direct bus to Gatwick from the place

quite possibly. ive only visited friends in that area. its about 1 mile or 2 near Purley, which is a major traffic/transport junction (jam hotspot really). so id imagine a bus of some kind will stop and run thru to Gatwick.

There is direct train from Croydon to Gatwick - only takes about 15 mins.
Have you thought about Croydon?

Well.... i've lived there my whole life (28 years). There is 3 shopping centres, loads and loads of bars, loads and loads of restuarants, great transport links - 10 mins to London bridge / Victoria / Charing Cross / Gatwick. Tram links to Wimbledon and your only in Zone 5. There are of course, with all areas, bits to avoid.
You'll mostly find Beer boys that go to these bars but i only go out in London now to avoid these people!! Otherwise its like every other place.
I would be happy to show you where to go and where to avoid. Maybe look at how much renting a place would be in Croydon to get an idea.

I also have to add that I am trying to move out of Croydon soon but that's mainly because I want a change!

Yeah i think it does have 24/7 access as my friend lives in Croydon and works as Cabin Crew. Good luck with your hunt.

yeah like I said in your other post.. East croydon has areally good quick connection with gatwick... I get the tram( 10 min) from beckenham junction to east croydon then to gatwick.

don't know much about living in Croydon, but is close enough to get into London...

Ummm, how do you describe a Tram? Good point.
Trams run on rails like a train but they are in the middle of a road. Does this help? http://website.lineone.net/~wendyedwards/croytramcont.html

They are also very quiet so nearly get run over by them everyday!

Croydon is near enough to Gatwick to get there easily, and also has a direct link into Central London for when you need that Bond Street fix!

I think it also has quite good bars, restaurants etc for nightlife.
