Ok The Barcelona to Ibiza thingy

sweet sensation

Seeing as they dont do direct flights from the uk to Ibiza at this time of year, we are going via Barcelona :D

We arrive in Barcelona at 10.25am and dont fly to Ibiza until 4.25pm, so with taking into consideration getting our bags and checking in to Iberia, I reck we will have about 3hrs?? to do something in Barcelona.

So can anyone recommend things to do?

We have both been before, but drove there so have no idea how far the airport is in conjunction to the centre? :?:

Cheers :D

The blue buses drops you to the right center, it takes between 30 and 45 minutes depending on the day of the week and time. It cost three euros something.
What day are you coming? I think you arrive just before a massive bank holiday (five days in a row) so the access to the city center will be a big mess

Oooh that might be a bit risky tho!

We arrive in Barcelona on Friday 1st Dec. :D

Is there anything to do nearer to the airport?

There's nothing to do in the airport neither around the airport.
El Prat is a toy airport compared to gatwick or Heathrow, I think you have time enough to take the bus and pop down las ramblas for something to eat. The airport bars are very expensive, so including the bus tickets, you will be paying the same for a sanwich if you stay in the airport.

THe risky day would be next tuesday or wednesday, but you should be fine on friday

Very easy, you should take the Blue Bus to Plaça Catalunya. There's just another Blue Bus but it doesn't arrive to the Airport, you can't get lost
Once you arrive there, remember where does it drop you cos it's the same place it leaves to the airport again (does it make any sense?)

You won't have too much time to wander around, but at least you'll get a quick look at las Ramblas, which is always a good time killer ;)

Thank you very much, I really appreciate it and it made perfect sense :D ;)

While youre helping me so much, can you recommend a good place to eat? :D

If instead of going down to las Ramblas you go up to Passeig de Gracia, there's plenty of big tapas bars which are pretty good, walking facing the mountains on your right ;)

You can check your bags in with your connecting flight as soon as you arrive. Hand luggage can be stored in left luggage lockers in terminal B
I would take the train in to Passieg de Gracia. Go over the footbridge near terminal A. At least you won't get stuck in traffic.

Barcelona main train station is a massive mess at the moment, and metropolitan trains are 50% reliables :?
I took the bus last friday at 2 and it took just 30 minutes
