After all this diet talk..

How much do you spend on food in a week and how much do you eat in a day...

I don't know what we spend a week on food, Tom buys it fresh everyday at M&S, we could buy it cheaper at Tesco or wherever but I don't like big supermarkets plus the quality is better in M&S.

I spend over £1,000 a week and get it all shipped over from Harrods

How much is it in Euros? 8O 8O

We spend around 50-100€, but we have about 1/3 of our main meals in restaurants and I don't include them in that amount

"poor tom" - having to struggle home with the groceries every day:lol:

Cheeky  I don't drive anymore plus Tom drives past a M&S Food on the way home from work so it makes more sense for him to pick food up :p

I worked for Tesco Marketing for 5 years and that was enough of supermarkets for me to last me a lifetime

i like being cheeky:p . i thought when you said "i don't like big supermarkets", you meant like you got lost in one or somethin, when you were young and haven't been back into one since. you know like the way you'd say "i don't like owls"

why the edit sirens??:?

I think we spend about $150 a week for the two of us. Usually one big $75-100 shopping trip and then grabbing various fresh items every day or two.

That's not including eating out, though we usually only eat out once a week as I like to cook. I get lunch for free at work (though there's the occasional lunch meeting out... which reminds me... need to expense this receipt here on my desk )

I must admit, I´m not a very good housewife.....I tend to go the supermarket every night to get something....end up spending around 30€ on "I don´t know what" and then panic in the evening when I dont have something I need = crap dinner! :?

I probably spend a fortune doing it like that but I just dont seem able to go into a supermarket and get what I need for a week! How does everyone else do it whilst I wander up and down the ailse aimlessly? (Lists? Experience?!)

Lists and internet shopping

we have been budgeting recently and tried to keep our weekly food shop to £35. This has been wildly unsuccessful though and we spend more like £45between the two of us (this also included houselhold groceries but not work lunches or booze)

Not eating meat really cuts down on your food bill though.

ALL our food is organic bought from local shops and/or farmers markets and we never go to the supermarket.

It IS perfectly possible to eat well and heartily and cheaply if you take a wee bit of time over it.

£200 FFS drew, what are you eating? caviar and champagne for brekkie?

Internet shopping? Which supermarket Silv? In SuperCor you have to spend 100€ to get bloody free home delivery!!!!8O

I don't know what supermarkets are in your area lou
If you don't spend 100€ you should pay 5- 6 €? For me it's worth cos I save time and I avoid buying things I don't need.
And, do a massive 100€ each month, it's only about 25€/week

ooh.. good thinking. I haven't had blini with caviar for breakfast in ages. Did the UN export ban kick in yet? Local prices have got to be dropping

£45 for 2 of you!! 8O

We shop at Sainsbury's each week (spend around £140/£150) and wouldn't say we buy anything more than we need. It's always all gone by the following week.

Then g/f spends about £50 mid week topping up on fresh fruit/veg.

Can't really see how we can spend any less without shopping at Aldi/Netto

Going to look into buying organic from independant shops but can't see us making any savings.

£200 is for our entire food shop, we don't spend extra on lunch etc. The only added expense is when we dine out which is probably once a month or so.

I'm honestly gobsmacked you guys spend so little! :?
