Not such a Wonderland

when we saw a crowd of stags in matching 'boys on tour' T shirts. There was little sign that any of Pete's other fans from Pacha were there - instead of an International crowd the gathering was Billy Britain at his worst.

Not sure whats worse, what you experienced at Eden or most of the Pacha crowd standing still in the middle of the dancefloor taking pictures of the dancers all the way through a blinding set.

Wouldnt have a problem going to Eden myself if the DJ's tickled my fancy

Have to say Eden surprised me having been dire for as long as I can remember. The new back room is a quality wee venue; I much prefer smaller rooms. Noticed the new Funktion 1 sound system when I went in which was a good start. Cato rocked it too.

Anyone going for a 'Groove Armada' set rather than a Cato set would have been disappointed though. Think less funky, more techy and spacey.

I agree that Eden has improved, I hadn't been since 2000 when it was a dump. Went to Garlands this year and it was improved ten fold! We didn't spend a lot of time in the main room, instead we headed to the back room where Arthur Baker was playing! It was quality, his mixing wasn't the best and he blew the bass after about 45 mins but the tunes rocked! Not sure that everyone ele in there knew who he was cos the room was quite empty, brilliant night though!

i´ve had two mentions in this thread so thought i ought to make an appearance :)

Sounds like you didn´t have a great night at Wonderland Katie and it´s always interesting to hear different opinions on the parties over here.

Personally, as James says, i think Wonderland is a terrific party - based on many visits this summer. Being the best club in San An does mean that there will always be a chav element which can´t be avoided unfortunately, but full credit to what Eden and Tong are trying to achieve.

I´ve never been a huge fan of Eden but i´ve found this year that Wonderland just doesn´t feel like a regular Eden night. The music is not like anything we´ve seen at Eden for a few years and the guest dj´s speak for themselves ... Deadmau5, Laidback Luke, James Zabiela for starters :) And the club has really invested in itself and looks great this year, particularly the White Room and upstairs areas.

As for it being a failure ... ? PVDobsession ... what are you talking about lol ? I think you need to find out a bit more before making statements like that ...

Wonderland is now as busy, if not busier than Judgement Sunday ... making it the biggest party in San Antonio. Rammed every Friday with a guest list queue reaching down the road. Hardly puts it in the ´failing club night´category ;)

I often wonder what the people are thinking when they head to see DJ Sammy at Es Paradis (just across the road from Eden) and they look and see the massive queue for Eden lol. I would think "are we going to the right party tonight"

Only in it´s first season, i put Wonderland as one of my favourite parties here, right up there with We Love Space and Cream ... closely followed by Armada and Carl Cox !

Don't get me wrong, i agree with you that having different opinions is part of the fun. However some statements you make are really far stretched...

- A night being packed is not always similar to a night being worth visiting. Especially in San an where a great deal of the people is drunk out of his mind at 2. (Yes they were, i was there...)
- Eden being better compared to what it was can also be saying something about where it came from. And not so much that it is at an Ibiza worthy level now..
- Wonderland, at least this year, is never as good as WLS or Armada.. And again i'm not talking just about the number of people attending but the atmosphere, club and music were so much better....

So i have to agree with Katie...

I actually enjoyed Wonderland @ Eden at the two times i've been there.

Soon i'll have proofs in videos, but for now you'll just have to take my word for it that its a good night!

Never made it to Wonderland while i was there this year, although i will say Eden has improved even since last year. Certainly wouldnt say it was full of 'chavs' though, or perhaps its just the nights i've been there we got lucky!

So many posts on all the different forums slate San An for being either full of brits and loads of fannies but i've yet to see this to be honest, infact the only time there was some guy in Amnesia shouting at the top of his voice, generally just being a knob!

Iv'e yet to go to space etc,but it seems most of the folk who do go are up their own arses maybe?

I've found the space crowd to be pretty ****.

the bigger the glasses the cooler you are...

bla! I can't stand when people think other people/clubbers are pretentious or whatever.. why do you care? They probably don't give a frig about you, so why do you care if someone else is glitzed up with big sunglasses?

I went to wonderland on 22nd Aug when Grove Armarda were doing a 4 hour set in the main room and again on 29th with Pete Tong. Had a good night on both occasions. This is the fourth time I have been to Ibiza, I think Eden is getting better with regards to sound system and lights/production. I had some very good nights at Eden this year and prefer it to Es Paradis

My girlfriend wears big sunglasses cos she thinks they look funny in a stupid way , she's hardly taking herself seriously , i guess you'd think she's a tosser by looking at her
