nostrum's june visit 2009

Great review thanks. I might try get write one too, but am frantically catching up on endless chores and work stuff so not sure when !

I was there visiting my man at same time (left Friday evening though...) and pretty much followed the exact same path !! Only difference was I went to KM5, Amante, Kumharas and Bambuddha Grove as well, all still very nice. Have always liked Es Cavallet so was great to go back and check out changes. Seem to have spent an awful lot of time eating, nice not to have to cook for a change !

Also got to Cream opening which was a new and different night in Amnesia for me - enjoyed the terrace but the music in the main room was a bit manic. I'm more of an deep underground house or deep tech house "girl" (inverted commas due to my advanced age - at least twice the average that night :lol:)

It seems Ibiza is still going strong, I was impressed by quality of new places and the vibe was good. Is still very pricey, but my policy is just to pretend I don't know the exchange rate and the memories are priceless . I get so little time off that I try not to count too much. I think it was a little busier in June in years gone by, but clubs and restaurants were still pretty much full when I was there, so who knows ?

Hiya Nostrum

Thanks for a brilliant review. You've actually got me even more excited about my holiday, if that was possible.

Also, quite a few points that are relevant to myself!

I'm glad you enjoyed the walk round Salinas and Es Cavallet. This is something that we're planning on doing on one of our 'quiet' days, but in the opposite direction (finishing off with a bite to eat somewhere on Salinas beach). Sounds like it's a worthwhile way to spend a day, so that's put my mind at rest!

I notice you mention briefly that you went to Sunset Ashram. Planning on heading out there (by bus) on one of our non-clubbing nights. We're staying in San Antonio, and my question is; is it worth the journey, or better just sticking to the sunset strip?

You can tell your friends at Tentazione to reserve a table for 2 Scottish guys at the start of September!! Your review, and the photos, have sealed the deal. I do like an Italian, it's always my first choice for a nice meal. Was hoping to explore Delta Villa at some point this year, and was looking out for somewhere nice to eat. I love it when a plan comes together!

So anyway, we went to Pacha Classics last year, and I really enjoyed it. The drinks prices were a refreshing change from Amnesia (a few days earlier), and the music was brilliant. The stage shows we're entertaining as well, and gave you a wee break from dancing, to recharge the legs (must be getting old!)

Fair enough, it was the first (and only) night I've been to Pacha, so I don't have anything to compare it against, but I had a bloody good night. Didn't realise it had a 'gay' reputation right enough, but that could explain a lot (which is a long story, but involves taking someones photo for them, then getting into a bit of a situation!!).

I'm going back to Pacha this year, but for the Swedish House Mafia. I'm hoping it'll be a good night!

Last but not least, I think the instrument you're on about (the guitar/keyboard thing) is actually called a Keytar.

Check out this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keytar

It could be an accordian, but that tends to be rested on the lap rather than played upright. In fact, a trditional accordian doesn't even have a keyboard, it's all buttons, similar to an old typewriter!

2009: 68 days to go, ya dancer!

About the instument above 'keytar' wiki linked, without seeing myself (what was played) can't be sure, but it is the most likely, have used a few of these in the past.

stivi,

i popped in tentazione again last night for a cocktail and you will be happy to know that, without any kind of advertisement on the press/flyers/etc, it was busier than any other restaurant in the area..... actually, when i left they were still serving tables while the other famous restaurants nearby where already closed. people is loving it ! !

btw, the official opening is tomorrow.....
