Ok .. so Pin Up took over the Matrix bar in Shefield last night ... two rooms of good music ...
Last time I was in Matrix, the sound system was shite, but it's all being done up and new sound system has been fitted ... just awaiting bigger DJ booths, and various other "fininshing touches"
Took my daughter with us last night as it was her birthday .. 16. Whenever I'm out in a club I always wish that her and her sister were there .. just to experience it, so it was lovely to have Hannah there last night. She had a great time. She was dead chuffed to know some tracks and to hear them a little differently .. as you do in a "club" ... and to also see the crowd's reaction.
Pin Up is a fairly new night in Sheffield - opened when BED closed it's doors for it's infamous RE-FIT .. (planning permission for flats already granted folks so I dont think its gonna re open) ... Small club with only the one room, but it is BRILLIANT!
They don't wanna be chained to the "just house nights" badge and mebbe some nights someone will drop something unexpected .. like last Friday .. end of the night and Outkast came on. I think that, because the place is small .. (probably main room of The Rhythm Factory) people connect more .. they have to,cos you're stuck right next to em! but, by the time everyone has their hands in the air and are clapping the DJ for dropping a certain tune, then everyone feels PART of the night. Absolutely perfect - I love it!
Mebbe "So .." can come up North !
This Friday we have resident Firas (Resident) and Greg Vickers.
Was treated to a Resident's Night last Friday ... Dino (who used to be a ressy at Bed years ago .. anyone remember him? Barbie? Drew?) and Tom Lynch .. causing an absolute riot!
This night is hitting the spot with me at the mo !!
