Im heading at the end of Feb to Cardiff for the weekend for my bf's birthday so i was just wondering where are there nice places to eat and things like that. We are staying at The Royal Hotel on St Mary Street.

Hi,

Don't get to go back "home" that often these days but the last couple of times i've been back we have been to Tiger Tiger off Greyfriars place and would recommend. It's a huge new Pub/Club/Restaurant with a few different styles of music, has a chill out area and it's own nightclub.

Also Edwards is ok on St Marys street.

Also The new complex in the Old Brewery Centre in St Marys Street has a multitude of eateries to suit all tastes.

Truth is theres so many new places sprung up since I moved out of Cardiff I just don't get chance to sample that many when I go down these days.

You should enjoy though, theres certainly something for everyone there

There's also the Prince Of Wales, which is at the end of St.Mary's Street, just round the corner from the Millennium Stadium. Its a Wetherspoons pub, but probably the smartest one I've ever seen, its converted from an old theatre and still has part of it incorporated into the design.

Backing on to St.Mary's Street is Westgate Street, where the Millennium Stadium is, there are several bars and pubs along there. Basically, where you're stopping, you won't be too far from somewhere to eat or drink, whichever direction you go ;)
