there might be more people on the island in general (I personally don't feel this is the case, but the numbers prove it), for example especially more dutch people (the movie "in love with ibiza" produced a massive hype in the netherlands and their visitor number's up 25%!), but at the moment it's just not enough to fill all the venues. if you have a close look, you can already see some adjustments are being made to attract more people.

last year's closing party period was a different story. the closings were extremely busy in general, until and including the penultimate weekend (the one including we love closing). only the very last weekend of the closings was less busy than expected, probably simply because it were the latest closing parties ever (sankeys closing part two 10th october!).

I agree with you nostrum,there's lots of parties this year and they are all very similar musically speaking!but next wave i think it's quite unique on the island..it's a really specific style of music that you can't hear often in ibiza!that's why i was quite sure that they would had a chance to have more people to their parties!

Not completely relevent to what happend here, but maybe we are all slightly victims of what we all wanted.


We all used to moan when DJs just had residencies with just one club, and that it would be amazing to see DJs like Coxy in Amnesia etc but its now gone to the point where maybe it does dilute some of the nights they are the main resident of.


Luciano is an obvious case. Cocoon, Vagabundos at Booom (though doubt he will do every week) and Ushuaia. So many nights are similar and the same DJs are at those nights it all blurs into one. One offs are great e.g. i'm sure Sven at Space will be a road again. And Sven is clever enough to know this.


Maybe the clubs will fight back soon. Not that someone like Coxy needs to worry about numbers at his night, but take the last week in August: he's at his night on Tuesday, Ushuaia on Friday and then a few hours later at Music ON at Amnesia! I'm out that week probably, and whereas I'd usually do Cox on Tuesday will now do the double whammy on the Friday. Everything but his actual night!!!
