tim and i had the pleasure of being invited to pacha on sat night (after being invited to dinner in destino - i know, i know
)
the new owners have done a really great job enhancing the vibe!
it seems like the years following the take over by trilantic were characterized by virtually one rebuild per year (no one mention the white dancefloor pre-covid), so i was a bit worried what the new ones had planned. it was only in 2022 that i thought pacha had finally nailed it - they kept the original ibicenco vibe with the stone walls and added the hexagonal lights which look amazing. the way the vip areas, the dj booth and the dance floor are designed gives it an amphitheatre feel, with the focus right on the centre of the dancefloor - and did i mention the hexagonal lights? the whole club is really photogenic and really goes off too.
anyway, the main changes are
1. the hexagonal lights have been extended virtually all across the dancefloor
2. the garden has sparkly lights embedded in the floor and the back wall is completely taken over by quite a raunchy mural by a famous artist (what was her name? damn it, forgotten) - it looks amazing - so trippy, like a fairy tale
3. the entrance to the vip is next level. i know most people won't see it, but if you do, you will be amazed. all swirly lights and mirrors
4. the back wall to the right of the vip is now an LED screen which most of the time gives the impression that the disco continues on into infinity - it's subtle but amazing effect when you see it.
otherwise, they've left it the same - bravo! improvements all round.
p.s. if you get the chance to eat at destino this summer - highly recommended. food was superb.
p.p.s i couldn't finish without a gentle plug for our restaurant + entry packages for both pacha and destino. most of pacha's dates are online, and destino is coming soon
