New look for San Jose's beaches

... i'll be ignoring that particular rule ...
... if any of you don't like animals on the beach then f**k off somewhere else!!!
"...la concejala de playas, María de los Ángeles Mostazo ..." will not be amused

the thing is not for us to ignore the law...but...why make such a law???
they are on the verge of banning everything and everyone on the island...

I agree... most beaches don't have music anyway, and I spend most of my time at the quiet ( well the quietest beaches anyway) beaches anyway, so I don't see why banning music at a few beach bars is a problem.

I thought this was a joke anyway after reading some of the bits in the first post!

Who evers out there for the opening parties will have to keep us informed on the Bora Bora situation, I hope to god theres music. Although i dont think i want to know if there isn't :(

i agree i also hope to god there's music !!

If you don’t like music on the beach Stephen, can you at least answer as to why you can’t just move to a somewhat quieter place of the beach? You seem to dodge that question throughout this post?

  • I don’t like kids on the beach so I choose beaches with less kids and move away if too many come close
  • I like topless women so I find a spot not too far from them, but never demand that anyone have to take them off to please me
  • I don’t like drunken people on the beach so I move if 10 guys with booze lay down next to me
  • I don’t like too loud music, but like background chillout music so try to find places with that
  • I don’t like nude people (both sexes) on the beach so try to stay clear rather than demanding them to dress up
  • I don’t like shadow from sunbeds so I find an open place for a beach towel
Why not just accept that people have other preferences when there is more thatn enough room for all?

why, when i am doing nothing to inconvenience anyone, should i move to accommodate some inconsiderate tosser who arrives - with loud music, a football, frisbee, loads of ale, a dog, a jetski etc etc.

our laws here are only a statement of morals, common sense, common courtesy and consideration so why should the majority have to move for the noisy inconsiderate few??

my preference is to stay up all night bawling and shouting at the moon - i sincerely hope that you are graceful enough to accept it when i arrive under your apartment window at 4 oclock in the morning when you've got to get up for work.

that good enough for you??

(i have in reality never been to any of the beaches which have all that crap on them - i go to my nearest beach cala moli which is a music free zone. i speak on behalf of everyone who through no fault of their own finds themselves marrooned in some dreadful place with no escape)

Well i prefer beaches with music, whether its loud or just background noise.

There are beaches for everyones tastes, you just have to go to the one which suits you.

If a family are after peace and quiet, they shouldn't turn up at bora bora and get 4 sunloungers right next to where the music is coming from!

And if they didnt know it was like that, they should of read a bit about the place they were visiting before they went.

There are plently of beaches for everyones needs, you dont have to go to the otherside of the island for quiet beaches etc.

Some people prefer a bit of both worlds, my favourite beach is cala conte.
Its quiet enough for everyone to enjoy and there are some nice bars (sunset ashram etc) which play music in the evenings etc.

I wouldnt go to bora bora to sunbathe and relax, i go there to enjoy the atmosphere and have a few beers and dance. There is nothing wrong with that.
If i want to relax i will go to a different beach which caters for it.

its about variety and having the choice.

no one can sit on bora bora moaning about it, they can quite easily pick themselves up and walk down the beach to figuretas or somewhere else.

they probably love it in secret, the married man moaning to his wife about all the noise whilst also eyeing up all the scantily clad gorgeous spanish 20 years olds everywhere lol :D

The laws are a statment of over control. No where in this world have i holidayed and not heard music on the beach. Its obscene.

Its going to take a lot more than just turning off the music to bring the people you desire to the island. The goverment of ibiza should be quite worried considering the current climate of worlds economy, the euro to the pound etc, and more and more people feeling the pinch on there bank balance. You would think they would be doing everything in there power to bring people to the island. Clearly Not

They may loose the 'clubbers',but to think as soon as we've gone the 'normal' people will people will suddenly turn up. It wont happen.

I see a case of 'You dont know what you've got until its gone' coming with ibiza.

The difference between you making noise outside my apartment and noise in the beach is the "enough space for both" -part. If it had only been one beach I would agree with you as a small part of those going to the beach would disturb a larger group that want quietness. Also, on a beach it is easy to move, with an apartment it is not.

Usually you would also know in advance if it is a quiet beach and pick that one. You would pick an apartment in a quiet end of town rather than in the middle of the bar-area. Likewise you can choose more quiet places on the beach than right in front Bora Bora.

So no, not good enough for me. I might be slow but I still don’t get it.

what the ?!

please can anyone tell me where should i go for the music , parties and the beach at the same time in this world!!!!

ibiza is just for that guys.. if you dont wanna hear loadly music try to everywhere in the world except ibiza.. leave us alone guys!!

i speak on behalf of everyone who through no fault of their own finds themselves marrooned in some dreadful place with no escape

This statement is hilarious.

Way to give a voice to all the uptight people, they really needed someone to speak up for them.

"I'm trapped at a beautiful beach and everyone around me is having fun, call the authorities."

haha this reminds me of discussions i had with my father 30 odd years ago. of course in those days uptight meant everything is alright, clean outa sight. i would have said something like
'hey daddio you're a square, let the cats groove when they wanna,' and so on.

And now you've turned into a Daily Mail reader that wants Ibiza to be a Mediterranean version of Frinton-on-Sea.

well done everyone and digger. it only took 53 posts before someone hurled a personal insult.

in related news..... from the ibiza sun:

Beach Regulation
The Town Hall of Santa Eulalia approved its new beach legislation on Thursday, which they hope will improve the quality for users. The new regulations prohibit, amongst other things, the practice of sports including petanca and beach tennis. Domestic animals have also been banned, legislation which is considered serious and could prove expensive for those breaking it. Fishing from the coast during the day will also now become illegal, as will not properly disposing of rubbish, including cigarette butts. Beach parties and other illegal gatherings are also set to become a thing of the past, as the Town Hall looks to clamp down on unsociable behaviour on the municipal beaches.
The new legislation is set to come into force in around six weeks, and could result in fines of up to €3,000 for those breaking the law.

:lol:This thread has just provided me with 30minutes of entertainment!

At the end of the day, Ibiza is about variety, there should be (and is..or was as the case may be) enough different beaches for EVERYBODY of all different tastes to find something they like, be it a quiet bathe, dance in the sun, or bat and ball with the children.

Stephens right when he says he shouldn't have to put up with the noise, and everybody else is right in saying they shouldn't be banned from having fun..it's a holiday after all!

A law to end all music/games/fun etc is too much imo, the key is compromise, ample quiet beautiful beaches, and enough beaches (i.e bora bora) to accomodate for those of us that enjoy a wilder day time, the option for one or the other or something in between is what makes Ibiza a desirable resort..taking the peace from ALL beaches, or taking the fun from ALL beaches is selfish either way and is something the council's should address. IMO IMO IMO

I can deal with that "no music" rule and I even appreciate a "no animals" rule, but no petanca? It's not even a noisy game
