New Ibiza TV programe ?

I disagree, I thought it was EXACTLY like Ibiza uncovered (which is currently getting repeated on skyone / skytwo)

episode 1 IU 1997: follows two girls fresh to Ibiza, their struggle to get jobs, end up PR-ing in the west end , cue obligatory shots of a lad dropping his pants , the sales pitch to get people in the bar , the failure and hard luck story when they get sacked cos they're rubbish (from the New Star bar).

episode 1 "Ibiza" 2008: follows a girl and a lad fresh to ibiza. Only land with a weeks money (idiots). End up Pr-ing in the west end, cue obligatory shots of a lad dropping his pants, sales pitch to get people in th ebar and hard luck story when they get sacked (in this case from bar amsterdam and Mambo)

episode 1 IU 1997: feature on Manumission getting ready to open for the season. Shows them preparing the club, interviews with Andy , Mike and Claire, they express their concerns bout the season ahead and what they hope to achieve.

episode 1 Ibiza 2008: feature on Ibiza rocks getting ready to open for the season. Shows them preparing the venue, interviews with Andy Mckay , expressing what Ibiza rocks is about and what they want to achieve for the season.

How was it different???
 
i dont think this new Ibiza programme will follow 2 hounds round San Antonio from the beach with paps out to west end counting how many blokes they snaired!

as Uncovered did!
 
is this any different than Ibiza Uncovered? I complained about it all the way through, yet I still watched it :lol:

It could be any resort in the Med! A very poor show
 
what were you expecting on living tv?? an analysis of government intervention in the tourist industry vis a vis economic and social trends?
it's a blonde channel for goodness' sake
 
I can't disagree with that, yes it's the same story line but it feels different. With the Sky series I felt like I should be give up more £20k (in 1997) year job get out there working as a PR or a rep having a good time earning 10p a week. But last night it felt like I should think about it before making that kind of move.

the guy at Mambo on that show was a nervous wreck!!! :D
thought he might have resorted to dragging people with the hair to get them into Mambo's :lol:

i know he is responsible for some of the best early partys out there but he's just a big Ned in his 40's :?
 
i meet the film crew the day they came them out.19th may.i told them while chatting to them.where to go what to do,just really giving them some ideas.but they did say that is was all set up ages ago.so you read between the lines.story lines are not very good.its just that if no one as ever been.you get to see the bars/beaches/shops places ect.

i do think Manumission are behind this somehow.if not what a scoop to show off your hotel.and a dam good promotion... if thats what they think live bands is whats missing,well then why don;t more bars set up live artist..mainly for the stickys.ie piano bars ect.tell you what those older people who come out every year .can drink for england.i know a few people who can down a full bottle of whisky in one night.no problem at all.

ok you get artist on in the hotels.but its the bars they need to be in.not enough of them.

:lol::lol::lol: Linekers bar was just awful awful awful - it should have been smack in the middle of the WE IMO, We went in cos we had good memories of afterhours in Zinema and wanted to see what it was like after the refurb.

Beautiful inside and their terrace is lovely, however, the coked up/steriod guzzling (Generalising a bit here - but you know the type I mean) bar staff and the punters (their other coked up, steriod guzzling off duty bar staff ) have ego's the size of small continents, (so if you have an ego, then check it in at the door on entering......)

They basically stood behind the bar with massive laminated signs which they held up to the crowd (when they turned up - did trial runs to their mates and the other staff) which said "MAKE SOME NOISE PEOPLE" then obviously when the crowd did make some noise they turned the sign round which read "****ERS!!!!" my favourite sign for the ladies was "NICE TITS LOVE!!!!" then that sign was flipped to say "NOW SHOW US YA RAT!!!!!"

However, it was absolutely rammed after we walked past on the way back to the car and looked like it was making a killing compared to the bars in the WE

it was till f*****ing awful tho :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
 
Worst bar ever! We weren't allowed to go an oreder drinks without some off his nut idiot insist we give him the order and he's to fetch the drinks, alarm bells were ringing when he starts to type the order into his mobile, he managed to screw that up before giving the order to his mate who said we'd now have to come to the bar with him, fair play that way we could keep an eye on him! You'd think going to the bar with someone who works there would get you served quicker - wrong!

Once at the barthe inevitable happens, she gets the order wrong, we told her, she told the barmiad, she said 'oh just keep em', then at the end the cheeky t**t tries to charge us for them!

Can't comment on the clients, it was such a sweat box we took the drinks out the back where there's some muscle man jobworth making everyone put there drinks in paper cups! Not a hard job but he made everyone que up for a cup like children!

Bet it's making **** loads of money tho!

way go in a to a place like that anyway.is beyond me,if i cannot see what they sell at the bar,then i just walk out.and i never trust those machines anyway.bet you never saw a price list.on the wall.you could always ask them for the book you know,,,,,new laws that came in lastyear to report unfair bars/pubs.
 
It was not my cup of tea either, with all the "party" shouts on the mic and that bollocks, and some pretty lame records getting played. But in fairness the barstaff were spot on when I went. The scouse girl serving me opened two bottles then when bringing them over realised they were warm, put them down and hunted out a few cold ones from another fridge. Ive never had that in Pacha or Amnesia!
