Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Im sure some trainspotters will say that technically it was amazing and it was beautiful.. but that is not what I want to hear in an essential mix im affraid. It was 2 hours full of random noises, no melodies or basslines whatsoever. Was it meant to be chill out?? Ive heard much better chill-outs sets than that if it was.

What do others think??

James Holden is playing Fabric in a few weeks, that reminded me why Fabric on Saturdays can be soo damn boring.

HOWEVER.. next saturday: Desyn Masiello, Demi and Omid 16b.. Getting us in the mood for Easter Bedrock.. oh yess!!!!! 8)

unfortunately, i haven't heard it - but very much would like to hear this! because i normally like their sound quite a lot - was it so boring? or just too...experimental maybe?

I guess if you like that sort of stuff you might like it. It was just I was keen on listening to James Holden's mix to see what I would be missing on the 1st of April (he's playing at Fabric but im seeing Sander K at Ministry instead) and after I heard that im glad im missing him.

It didnt seem to do anything. In my opinion, it was just a sequence of random noises, not much else. Maybe he plays a different set in a club.

if you want basic 4/4 tracks mixed one into the other, better wait til next weeks essential mix

Technically this mix was crazy good !!

i've just seen they both have released new stuff:

james holden - at the controls (double cd mix compilation)

nathan fake - drowning in a sea of love (artist album)

anyone already had a listen on them???

ive not heard right the way through yet, but what i caught of it was outstanding. again, it helps if you like this music. can't wait for the desyn segment of the emix... last year's was one of my favourite all year...

slam - this world (instrumental)
alra - moon
elastic reality - cassa de x

these three to begin with sealed the deal for me. was also the first time i heard that piano track 8) im also still loving the balance compilation. yet to see the man himself.

I am listening to it for the second time today, I am loving this, yes its experimental, and different, and has lots of different noises (Holden's stuff sounds smoother to my ears)...and to hear "The Sky Was Pink"...every time this is a magical moment, and may well become one of my funeral tracks (not that I'm expecting a funeral any time soon)

well, "the sky was pink" is still one of my favourite tracks since i've heard it for the first time!!! such a burner!!!

if anyone could burn me this EM on a cd and send it to switzerland, i'd be glad (would pay for postage!) :?: :?: :D

Fair play, maybe I shouldnt expect to hear 4/4 tracks all the time on the essential mix, but surely these DJ's dont play this style of music when they DJ in a club do they??
Like I said, I was hoping to get a preview of what id be likely to hear when they play out and I dont think I did. Or I hope I didnt.

Fatphillb, im with you 100% on last years Desyn EM, do you mean the one he did for the Miami Conference with Murk and Gabriel and Dresden? Ive got that on mp3 and im still listening to it now!!

Cant wait for this saturdays mix. Will set us right up to his set at Ministry on the 1st of April ;)

I haven't heard this either.. but the way you say 'its very experimental' makes me think I would not like it.. I want to dance, not watch some dude play with his computer.. and that seems to be happening a lot lately:cry:

Whats with all the boring music these days? Where's the driving techno gone??
