Nasty work people....

I think most people generally do take one or two days off a year as sickies when theyre not entitled to, and in view thats ok.

I mean theres someone where I work who keeps getting ill (colds, flu, viruses.. the lot) so he takes legitimate sickies, but then I never do that because im hardly ill, so why shouldnt I take a couple of days a year off after a large weekend for example. It might be selfish, but its fair in my opinion.

lots of american firms have duvet days which I think is a really good idea. You're entitled to two days off/yr whenever you want just because you can't be bothered to come in.

ferd its not fair cos you are being paid for not working, when you should be. the person who is always sick will never be treated as a reliable worker and therefore will struggle getting further responsibility/promotion whatever.

i'm not really keen on sick people, especially coughing:spank: , i hate people coughing:evil:

I can confirm that google has no images of owls coughing!:p

You workplace sounds like where I used to work!

My boss was such a dragon, I remember asking whether I could work my lunch and leave an hour early (on Christmas Eve!) so I could travel down to Jon's family for Christmas. She refused, despite the office being totally empty that day.
She also made us make up the time if we had doctors appointments, went to college, had exams etc.
Oh and if we came in 5mins late, we then had to take 5mins out of our lunch break.
Once when I was being "monitored" (like basically being on report in school), she had my supervisor make a note of what time I got in, the time I went to lunch, back from lunch, time spent on phone etc. My supervisor would then have to send her a report on me each week!!!

Talk about power trip!

Not suprisingly I left soon after that, as did my supervisor and every other member of her team.

Skiing in France and then busy as f**k. Those hole-diggers won't shout at themselves, you know?*

I believe I missed a battle to rival 'Synchgate' last week? Mudslinging, bans and all apparently!

*Well, one of them does. He's known as 'The Caveman' and once protested when I stopped him working because "Sure, it's lovely digging is this!"

Im still trying to find out what happened. I missed Spotlight one morning break and next time I log in suddenly everyone was lamenting cause Stuie had been banned!

We used to have this horrible (unt of a boss at my old work and we came to conclusion that he wasn't getting any action from his wife at home so he took it out on his employees  About twice a year he would come in smiling so on those days we figured he'd had a bit of action at home

He's a lorry driver who chainsmokes virtually 24 hrs a day. Lights one match in the morning for his first fag and then lights each one the last. I've never seen him without one on the go.
