at the end of the day my argument was summed up when i compared fade (cheesy) to thrill me (not cheesy)- both funky house- where was your response to that? dick

just cos i said i like some records on defected dosent mean i like all of em....someone went on a tangent about that too....

the Original Mix (and the Hex Hector Mix) of Fade were fantastic.

the new ones are gash (imo)

agreed the new mixes are alot worse than the original...




two tunes can be labelled 'funky house' and they can be totally different

commercial funky house v funky house

-my argument is i prefer the latter- didnt realise i was gna be burnt at the stick for sayin it!!

Titipornstar, im afraid you seem to fall into this 'im too cool to like hed kandi' thing.

im not a massive fan of their tunes, but i will bet your life that most of you have danced your arse off to tracks released on hed kandi albums!

sure, the darker stuff that people are calling minimal these days is cool, and in the right setting its top notch - but equally, if i was on the space terrace and someone dropped a loco dice mind blower i wouldnt enjoy it as much as say, chase the sun.

and then pigeonholing tracks cos 'they're cheesy' and not listening to them and claiming its sh.it is truly pathetic.

same man is getting hammered and has been all summer, but my god it gets a response when it drops...

And, to go back to the original post, Solu musics original fade is about as far from cheesy as you can get, its classic, US house. Titipornstar - as you claim to know so much about the genre id have thought you may have realised this....

Cant we just enjoy ourselves!!!!?!
