Just me and Sarah...
19th - 24th August 2005...
Only five days but story goes... I went out in June for a fantastic week for the opening parties, stayed in a mint villa up in the hills in San Rafael. Went with 13 friends for a 'stag' "week" which was amazing... did nearly all the parties WLS, Defected, Subliminal, Cream & Pure Pacha... anyway didn't stop going on about it on my return so Sarah insisted we sent together so scraped enough pennies together to do 5 days, didn't really have the dosh to go too mad so had Pencilled in Pacha on Friday and Space on Sunday with lots of Bora Bora! We were just happy
to be going together for the first time and the only time Sarah had been before was about 10 years ago with an ex which was abit of a nightmare so I was determined for us to go and have an ace time...
Over excitement on the Thursday night and a few beverages to help us sleep meant we didnt get to bed til 1 and had to leave home for the airport at 4 so not the best start and probably the sign of things to come!
Stayed at the Garbi aparthotel which was in brilliant location for Space and Bora Bora - I think we were the only English in the hotel which wasn't a problem as we were only in there to sleep, the pool area looked nice but we didn't go round the pool just headed straight out for the beaches...
Anyway arrived Friday lunchtime.... got the hire car sorted pretty quickly which was a refreshing change as we have in the past had to wait ages but hertz were kool and we were on our way in about half an hour (booked with ebookers before we left)
Dumped our bags off lagging abit already after starting the holiday on 3 hours sleep but headed for some light lunch.... following recommendation from Barbie headed for Passion - what a brilliant place - bloke in their was really friendly, chatted to him for ages...meant to order a smoothie but ended up with a jug of sangria... even gave us some freebies for the people from Ibiza night at Amnesia on the Saturday. Had one of the panini's (the goats cheese and roasted vegatables are ace as is the salmon and cream cheese!)
then headed off to PDB beach for some sun a couple more drinks at Bora Bora and hopefully a couple of hours sleep before the evenings shenaninghans... think we managed about an hour on the sun loungers asleep and then decided to venture back up to the bar area around bora bora where it was really going off, Sarah was awe struck having not experienced BB before she was loving it... shame they block it all off now but I spose they've got to otherwise they'd never sell any drinks! The bloke climbing up the tree on the beach to look over the fence in the mask was abit freaky! The plan for the evening had been Pure Pacha however having been at BB and getting in 'the spirit' of things we ended up staying for hours...the whole night got very very messy and it's at this point the doors were where the windows should be etc and the memory is a little hazy...Looking for a change of scenary from BB we some how ended up in the club called 'love' which I later saw posters all over the island for.... and that has to be right up there as the worst place I've ever been to in Ibiza and as for the two cretin's allegedly DJ's working in there that night! .....
Moving onto Saturday morning.... Amount of sleep zero.... onto Passion.... time to sample one of those smoothies I'd heard so much about...You'll be right as rain I kept telling Sarah... anyway looking pretty shabby to say the least we downed our smoothies and headed off for Salinas to chill out and get some sleep... after being there for about half an hour on the sunbeds and in a semi concious state I felt what I was sure was a big fat drop of rain land on me.... my worse fears were realised when it started bucketing it down for about 10 minutes ... I'm sure I looked a state shouting like a demented mad 
man at the sky for the downpour to stop... it did and we duly passed out in the sunshine, 8) shades on but forgot (duh!) to put suncream on our faces... just glad I wasn't wearing my biggy space shades otherwise I'd of looked a damn sight worse...!!! Bless Estee Lauder is all I can say as I found my feminine side!
Anyway... needed to recharge and collapsed at the hotel for a couple of hours... got up about midnight and headed out to Ibiza town for something to eat.... cannot remember the name of the place we ate it, but were supposed to be going to the studio.... had a steak and a lovely bottle of rioja... then headed off for Amnesia... or so we thought ... we left Ibiza town about 2 and got to the casino roundabout and were met with the most god awful traffic jam... it was a nightmare... our freebies were if you got in before 3.30 and we didn't make it in time which were absolutely gutted about as it is supposed to be a fantastic night we were both looking forward to seeing Pippi and had heard good things of Mar-T! Hey-ho... maybe it was for the best... our big day was always gonna be WLS on the Sunday so it was probably a blessing in disguise that things didn't get too messy on the Saturday night...cut our losses and went off for a quick beer and to look up an old friend at Zapatha in SA.
Brekkie\Brunch at Passion.... Barbie.... Strawb shake... orgasmic... shouldn't of had 2 though... onto BB for a couple of beers (which sat lovely on top of the shakes) then back to the hotel - quick change and off to Space This is what we'd been really looking forward the most! Don't really know who was on in the afternoon but the music was good and we had a good few hours on the terrace... Had seen on the saturday night that Oaky was doing sunset at mambo from 6 til midnight so being a hero of mine from my trance days I was intrigued to see him do such a set! He was really good to be fair and we enjoyed what he played and the sunset was beautiful! see more pics on fotki.... (mcrackin... what'd reckon to the sunset phot's?)... Headed back to Space...caught some of Layo and Bushwacka, some of Groove Armada (yep they played it! Only once though this time!) and abit of Uysess too... the highlight for me of the night were Tiefschwarz who I had never seen before... 8) 8) They were amazing and definitely new hero's of mine!
Monday\Tuesday (lacks of funds for anything too mental)... chilled days! headed off to Salinas... stumbled across the Malibu restaurant had a light lunch washed down with some Sangira de cava which hit the spot! (those guys working in there work really hard running food and drinks out to the beach - fair play!) Stayed at the beach til quite late then back to hotel quick change, wanted to take Sarah to KM5 so went there for a few drinks before heading off to bambuddha grove for a meal. Loved the place (thanks to the many people on here for the recommendation) I had the duck, Sarah has the Prawns... Thinking all night that we should of been seeing The S man at Pacha... i wanted to go we wanted to go we should of gone! never mind! We would of been completely skint if we had!
Tuesday The last day! the plan was operation atlantis\show Sarah Es Vedra and then to Cala D'hort beach and for lunch at the restaurant I'd heard about right off the beach... anyway I had a map and some tips from another forum of what sign to look for and where to turn off etc etc but like a complete pillick I got halfway there and realised I didn't have map\tips I'd printed off with me! goes without saying that we didn't find it (will try again next year remembering aforementioned map!) and headed down to the beach. The Paella we had was truely average and really wished we'd gone to the other one I'd heard about Es Boldolda? or something like that? but hey-ho we live and learn, fantastic view of Es Vedra from our table (see fotki pics).... Ended the holiday with a bolt across to see Sunset at Mambo and then for a few drinks at Coastline, then back across the island to bid our farewell to Bora Bora! Flight first thing Wednesday morning!
Well that was it our 5 days not as mad as previous visits and I still havent made it to Dc10 yet
So next year it is... the closing parties are just a pipeline for me I'll keep checking my numbers every week if they come in I'll see you there!
