Saturday morning - Robder and the Pilchard get woken from their slumber at 7h30 by a woman outside shouting.
I'm not best pleased as I had a late one and was looking forward to a nice lie in...I start cussing the silly mare and turn over to get back to sleep.
The shouting gets louder and more hysterical so I get up and go to the window - still half asleep.
On the floor is a woman lead in a wierd position with a useless looking man running around shouting, "AMBULANCE!" - my immediate thought - 'Oh Christ, she's jumped.'
Then I hear a woman's voice, "MY BABY! MY BAAABY!" - My thoughts turn to, 'Oh no, she's hysterical because she's found her baby dead.'
I rub my eyes and try to focus - still half asleep - THE WOMAN WAS GIVING BIRTH DIRECTLY BELOW MY WINDOW!
No one was helping the poor lass and the next thing I know she's delivered the thing herself - it popped out like a bag of sausages...I'm in shock calling an ambulance trying to articulate what's going on and waking up at the same time (ambulance takes ages to arrive - grrrr)...The baby is fine and the woman walks away!
Quote Pilchard, "Why is she giving birth at 7h30 in the morning?"
We turn over and go back to sleep.
Random eh?
