Grrrrr

The girl who seats near me is constantly looking at my screen over my shoulder and reading stuff that doesn't concern her. It's so bloody rude. I've never known anything like it. She has even commented on stuff she has seen on my screen. She's only been here just over a month so I've been quite tolerant to date but I'm slowly losing it! I've tried to subtlely tell her to p*ss off and mind her own business but it's not working. I've got as far as giving her the hard stare 8O this morning and she's still doing it!!

Wow, I feel better for sharing that

I would leave your screen on your post, then go and make a cuppa...

Either that or start calling her Dorothy, in a Jim Branning accent (Sorry to non Eastenders affecionados)

Can you get one of those anti-glare screen covers? I've got one and it means you can only see what's on my screen if you're right in front of it. It's a godsend in an open-plan office.

The girl does need to be told nevertheless. So rude!

Even better... put some scandalous rumor on your screen. Something compromising about a co-worker or yourself, but something patently false. Or some false rumor about the company (buyout, layoffs, whatever).

Leave it for her to read and then see if she tells someone else in the office. Sit back and watch the fun :D

create a screensaver with the text "what the F@#K are you looking at my screen all the time? - yes, lady, i meant YOU!!!". then leave for a cup of tea and wait for the reaction...

I would love to do this

Do it back to her and see how she likes it. Make a point of really being nosey about it though and go up to her screen and say ''oooh whats this thing do here?'' etc etc

I like Nostrums idea the best though

Im sure you would get some wierd looks with a sheet wrapped with you and your puter. But maybe she would get the picture in a wierd way, or maybe even join you under it 8O

Suggestion of the day!

Alternatively, I think I've seen somewhere some screen covers that you can put on your monitor so that everything is only visible from a right angle. Something like that might at least reduce the intrusion a bit...

Something like this:
57282911.jpg

3M Privacy Monitor Filter
21" Display
3M Privacy Computer Filter PF400XXL 19 - 21", flat frame, keeps confidential information private with 3M's patented microlouver technology; on-screen data is visible only to persons directly in front of the monitor, passersby see a blank, dark screen. It offers privacy without blurring or distorting screen images. It reduces glare up to 95%; prevents static and dust build-up when properly grounded; blocks up to 99.9% of ELF/VLF E-field radiation when properly grounded; utilizes the assembly-free flat frame design; outside dimensions: 14.33 x 17.33 x 0.40 inches (364 x 440 x 10.2 mm); viewing area diagonal is 20.6 inches (523 mm); standard tint glass; cleans easily with a soft, lint-free cloth and glass cleaner.

She could just say she needs it to reduce glare and prevent eye damage
(oh, and to prevent static and dust build-up too!)
