its always down to the owners. i used to fear them too until i got to know this daft bastard. ;)

they are loving dogs if treated correctly.
 
My bf has a staff and he is the most adorable dog you could ever meet. He is so kind natured, he always wants attention, always wants cuddles. You cant leave the house without him wanting you to say goodbye to him and you cant enter the house without acknowledging him. Such a sweet dog. My bf and me were play fighting once and I was screaming like a little child mucking about and he jumped on me to protect me (the dog not the bf), he seriously thought I was getting hurt but he was still only playing.

They still keep him away from the baby though. Better to be safe then sorry.
