Music at closing partys... :-/

I may be on my own here but...

I have never made it to a closing party after 16 years of coming to Ibiza but everyone seems to say they are fantastic.

2013 and 2014 there were live web streams from space and amnesia

http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/night/live/29

Now I have listened to several of these and I just don't get the music...
I love my House, deep house, disco, and back it the 90 a bit of trance.

We normally go to La troya @ amnesia.
Bora Bora, Cream, Toolroom Knights, Elrow, the face + Others too.

But after skipping through several horse of "Closing partie's music" 2013 / 2014 it just sounds like repetitive beats. No highs and lows and nothing I recognize from 2014.

I listen to Annie Mac & Pete Tong. Always shazamming when walking around the bars in Ibiza town, Playa d'en bossa and San an. I love my music but IMHO the music on the live streams form the closing partys seem more specialist and not representative of Ibiza 2014, again IMHO Representative and boring.

What dose everyone think?

99% dance music made at the moment is incredibly boring, usually knocked up in a hurry on a laptop in an airport lounge by some incredibly boring 'tech' dj/producer whose sole creative ambition is to sound like everybody else. Soundcloud is saturated with this nonsense. It then feeds through to the clubs where it only really makes sonic sense on industrial strength K. But there are people out there making consistently memorable music juju & jordash, todd terje, pepe bradock, omar s, red axes... But it's only really getting heard in sweaty basements in Northern climes

I think you got it bang on tbh. Some of the best music that I heard at the closings weekend were actually at "non closings" venues! (apart from Space Sunset Terrace and Premier etage)
I am sticking to September or early July from now on:).

Not just the closing parties, but a lot of repetitive beats in general. Don't get me wrong, love getting a groove to something repetitive, but it needs to be mixed up a bit.

Laziness and producers who have become DJs and don't have that particular talent.

ah yeah there I do agree to a certain extent. that's why I only spent a total of 4 hours at music on and 0 at ANTS this summer. those are two perfect examples of boring music IMO. also ENTER sometimes didn't do it for me, but that heavily depended on the line up.

I don't think the music is any different if you come at start of september or at the end tbh.
well i always come start of June and Mid September (and a bit in between, cant do closings due to work and year end issues) and loved it as always. The music and vibe this year at Cocoon and Music On was the best I've seen. Space can be up and down for me but you make it what it is. I've still got tunes in my head which no doubt we will hear released over the winter which is what you want?

Yeah to be honest I expected a bit of a mix at the closings. I'm a big techno fan, but I think had there been a few more recognizable tunes and some really decent older house songs then I could have kept going much longer. It gives you a much needed instant lift. I think that closest we got was hearing Duke so in love with you up on the premier etage! :)

Was at amnesia from 3am to 10am and thought the music was great but that was because i was so out if it i think , although it was just a load of noise . ( music was far to loud even with my ear plugs in) stayed on the terrace near the back bar all night and it seemed everyone was enjoying ( if anyone recognised me i was the one with the broken glasses )
I thought marco loco set was rockin at space ! Also see his set at es vive after wards
For me he is one too look out for.
Disclosure didn't suit space IMO
Richie hawtin does nothing for me although I gave him a go . And Carl cox was great as usual.
The rest of the time I was dipping in and out of all the rooms , left by 4 am . And can def say I won't be returning to space next closing unless I'm going from 6 in morning as It didn't live up to it in the flight room for me .

Dc10 outside was rockin although I felt like a sardine in a tin all night . Trying to find a tune played outside around 9 to 10 pm ( I think ) also played by marco loco night before . It's got a slight Balearics sound to it that repeats , what a tune hope I find it soon . Its a long shot but Any thoughts would be appreciated .

The music inside was def better though in the terrace macro plex was thumping and appollina was taking it to another level. Only problem was its was so hot in there so couldn't stay in there for long periods.

Lastly blue marlin was cool until they started playing disco , wtf ! Then it got better then it suddenly closed . Very annoyed . Also can't understand why people want to spend there life in that place , total rip off ! Even if I had all the money in the world I wouldn't pay them sort of prices .

Just wish I remembered more of the tunes that was played , maybe I won't get so wasted next time and learn to use shaman more .

"It's got a slight Balearics sound to it that repeats" > what does this mean??

"Lastly blue marlin was cool until they started playing disco , wtf !"

> depends on what kind of disco. The moroder-influenced variety is some of the finest music known to man.

Found the track it was black water by octave one . Without the lyrics .
Not saying anything wrong with disco but I went to the party with the intention of it being a circoloco after party . So the disco part killed it for me .

even though knowing troxler pretty often plays disco stuff at afters, I also have to admit me and a good few friends weren't too happy with that disco hour he threw in tbh. I've got absolutely nothing against disco - anyone having been at our el salon takeovers at space will confirm - but to me it wasn't the right moment nor the right time.

So is there any funky house played at the space closing or anthems from the year? or is it all just deep (K holes) beats?

A lot of this techno shiz does get repetitive, which is why I'm opting for Insane instead of Music On for example. I wish these DJs did throw in some melodies or spice it up a bit. And I don't get why it's a crime to throw in tracks ppl know instead of always trying too hard to be exclusive by playing tracks that aren't out yet or something. Just because it's a white label, doesn't mean it's good. I find a lot of DJs only throw in tracks ppl know at the end of their sets. I dunno, I'm going to Ants anyway, and La Familia, which can be tech house music that goes nowhere but I like the outdoor venue and sometimes the repetitiveness is done right by being driving and forcefilled. I mean, the lineups for Ants aren't out yet (that's another thing altogether arrgh) but last year they Hot Since 82 and Maya Jane Coles on some dates and they spice it up.
