To be honest, I never saw one either last season or the one before. I was in Greece in 2001 and they were pretty bad then, but never noticed them as a problem when I've been. Mainland Spain seems to get them more from my experiences.
To prevent them, I use those plug-ins tnat you get which fill the room full of vapours which you can't smell but mozzies despise.
Also, drinking G&Ts is a good idea!

I hate mozzies but the distaste is not reciprocated and they adore me.
I was too plastered to ever feel them biting me and I don't think I atually saw one at all last year. They must have been around though as I was covered in bites by the end of the week.
I'm going to try the Avon tip posted at the top of the discussion I think. Failing that I will run in constant zig zags and confuse them . . .
I may even bite them back . . quick nip on their legs, see if I can locate the back of their knees. .see how they like it.
