hello people.Well...some of you might now, that Im connected to the musicindustry.
nd others might now. Well nevermind, the thing is. My music-publishers and I think its a good idea for me to go to the UK for some months, to be and work a little more. I think its a really good idea, also.
BUT
I need accomodation (fordable please and not too far away from everything!) and I need a part time job maybe to cover some of the expenses.....Ive been saving a bit. But not much. what are wages like?
So: where do I apply for part time jobs (temping, reception, assistant, stuff like that)
please let me know asap, so I can plan this thing.
will be going on the 1st of February - 1st of May. where i have to be back in DK again (maybe!)

Hugs IG
PS: LOOK FORWARD TO RESPONSES!

Whereabouts in the UK do you need to be?, London?.

If you need to have easy access to all parts of the UK i would suggest Birmingham. Its easy to everywhere (as its central UK), not as expensive as London and theres loads of cool places to live here, i could even help you look.

As for work, again, theres so many agencies here that can place you in temporary work for admin/recepntion positions.

hello again!
well its in London, as the office where I need to be working - is in Central London. Do I need to apply for a work visa or how does this work? maybe i should get in touch with the embassy?
awww, I really cant wait. I have definately made up my mind, the thing is. I love London and UK in general soooo much, that I know i wont be returning to deadly boring Copenhagen again lol*
what temp companies sohuld I visit? maybe a personal presentation would be nice?

You will have even more opportunities in London then chick as its so huge, im sure some of the London peeps from here can tell you the right location if you tell them where the office is etc.

Good luck, maybe we can meet up at last :D

I-G there are loads of temp agencies in London. probably the best thing ot do is decide what kind of business you would want to temp in first then one of us Londoners can point you in the right direction. you can email then your cv through first then arrange to go in and meet them. i would also advise you that when you meet them not to tell them that you are only staying 3 months, otherwise you'll end up with the rubbish work ;)

IG what kind of temping work do you want, there's millions of recruitment agencies but they tend to deal with specialist fields so let us know what kind of field you're looking for and I can give you some agencies.

Re accomodation, try www.loot.co.uk.

Hi, well I cannot help you but I wish you a very nice moving and that your suceed in your expectations :D :D :D :D

awww ok thats good thinking! yeah, I jsut want something less braincell activationg tho, like reception or assistant or something....
maybe the music industry in UK is too hard to find work in? but ill give it a go, you never know whats needed.

awww all you people are really helping me out! thanks a million!
yeah B, its more like just reception work, frontdesk or assisting with something. PA for manager or so on, the stuff Ive done before because I think it´ll be really hard to find work at a radiostation and in the musicindustry where I normally work.
I do radio and music now, making a fair living here. but jobs in UK must be hard in that direction

IG, www.office-angels.com and www.reed.co.uk are both 2 big recruitment agencies in UK which deal in a lot of office/temping work and have offices thru-out London.

There are literally 100s of recruitment agencies tho. I'm just trying to remember name of a good little independent one where my friend used to work just behind Selfridges, hang on I'll text her and find out name.

I don't hold all the knowledge, my friend Google does

Scoobie don't lie, you ARE Google  ;)

Some number of o's and e's - it's almost an anagram!!!!

Scoobie is Google! I can't believe I didn't work out before.

As anyone here seen Scoobie in the flesh and used 'Google' at the same time? Of course not!

aww thanks B, tonight I will be working on my CV - what do peeps in London value (other than a line or two, partying like crazy, housemusic and shopping + whitewine shenanigang lol* :D 8O  ) ???

I have a house in Epsom, Surrey which is about 30 mins from central London by train.
I live in Ibiza so I am only there maybe once every 6 weeks.
It's got 3 bedrooms, one I use as an office and one I keep as somewhere to stay when I'm in London. The girl that works for me comes in 3 times a week for an hour each time.
I have rented out one of the bedrooms in the past, and am looking to do so again.
The rent is £60 per week.
Regarding work permits, you don't need one, as Denmark is in the EEC.
I have a couple of contacts in the music/radio business, I don't know if they could do anything, but maybe.

Languages for a starter. It appears to me that being being at least bi-lingual is the norm for many intelligent people in other large European cities. Here, on the other hand, it's rarer and therefore an advantage.
